We had the good fortune of connecting with Phil Stevens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phil, what do you attribute your success to?
I’d like think that the success of my business and brand can be directly tied to the way I value others. Whether it’s a client, vendor, contractor, co-worker, family member or stranger, I want people to feel truly valued in the time I’ve spent with them. One of my favorite quotes is, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I guess you could call me a Creative Director that writes, produces & directs. I love production design too, creating worlds is a passion of mine. There are so many talented directors and filmmakers out there. I think what sets me apart is that I’m not necessarily trying to push my agenda out there into the world. I’m primarily focused on creating content that elevates the overall experience. It might be a short film for a women’s conference where we’ve moved people so deeply speakers can follow up and deliver a powerful message now that we have their attention. It might be a product commercial that makes the user feel like they can’t do without this product or service. It could be a powerful interview or testimony that feels so relatable it opens the door for other’s to speak out and say, “That’s me, I need help too.” In all honesty (it’ll sound cheesy), I win when our team has achieved a clear win for our client or stakeholders.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d take them to the movies. I’d find the film that was sure to be up for Oscar nominations and immerse ourselves in another world just for a few hours. It’s freeing to get out of your head and step away from the busyness of this life for a while and be somewhere else. If we are eating I’d go to Ponce City Market, Minero’s is my jam. In Gwinnett I love Uncle Jack’s Meathouse. Lastly, I could eat Sushi every day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d be ashamed of myself if I didn’t thank God for undeserved favor over my career and business. Additionally, I’d like to thank my wife who always puts up with all my ramblings about film, story-telling, business, production design and anything else I geek out on. I’m grateful for every client that has trusted me with creating visuals for their products or telling their story. It’s not lost on me, that you’ve trusted me with your baby in hopes that I treat your company’s vision as if it were my own. Thank-you. I am beyond grateful for all the creative geniuses I get to walk hand in hand with. I couldn’t have created the successful films, commercials, ads and various other media without partnering with people more talented then myself. Thank-you for lending me your gifts.
