We had the good fortune of connecting with Phedora Evermoore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phedora, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Life is too short. I truly believe we have the power to receive what we put out in this world no matter what our circumstances are. I always try to operate from a place of kindness, love and grace because I know one day I may need it. I know there are times where I have acted out of character and I always remember the people that have treated me kind anyway. I want to be that person for anyone who comes in contact with me, whether it is on set or if I am shopping at the store. This is such a cliche answer but kindness and love will always triumph!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart from all the other “actors” is my heart and my passion behind what I do. If I am asked to be on a project, I don’t take it for granted. A lot of people are in this industry for the wrong reasons and I am in this industry to inspire. This road is definitely not easy, I am taking it one day at a time because when you are in entertainment, you deal with a lot of different personalities and it takes a special someone to maneuver and adjust to all of that. Every on set experience has been completely different. I know how to adapt to any atmosphere and I don’t let anyone change who I truly am or what I represent. There is no doubt in my mind that I was placed in this industry to be a light and I will continue to do so. I have had to pray a lot, wipe some tears but I made sure I always kept moving forward. This world has enough darkness, this is the time for the bold and kind hearted to step forward and shine their light!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a museum and outdoor girl! If my friends are coming to visit I would definitely take them to at least one museum, chill at the beach or hike and then we would have to have dinner at my favorite spot, Joey’s!! Oh my goodness, their menu is amazing and please don’t leave without trying their espresso martini. Thank me later!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been a lot of people that have helped me along the way to get where I am. A lot of it weighs on my relationship with God & having a supportive family. I have been blessed to meet Mark Mckinnon from McKinnon Acting Studio & the legendary Hallie Todd who both have been amazing mentors throughout my acting career. They both have a lot of experience in the industry and have helped me perfect my craft as an actress. They have equally challenged me in a way that has only helped me grow and I am grateful for them both. I also recently joined an amazing platform as VP of 247 Live Culture. (shoutout to the entire team!) I am able to help contribute to keep a positive outlook on black culture in media and dig deeper into my creative journey by writing and providing content that will inspire others.
