We had the good fortune of connecting with Peter Olohan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peter, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks don’t always go as planned but it’s better than saying you didn’t take that chance. In life nothing is guaranteed, so why not take a step towards something you enjoy? When I think to myself and question if taking chances / risks was beneficial to my life, I would say yes. The places I’ve been the past year as well as the people I’ve met, would not be in my life if I didn’t put my foot forward into a new direction for the path I am currently on.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Working in New York City for a majority of my content is completely different from doing what I do back home in New Jersey. With that being said I am very proud to say that my work ethic takes a bigger part in my self confidence regarding my art. From an outside perspective before traveling back and froth from the city I was able to grab some inspiration from what I was about to get into. Photography can be very competitive, to really make a stain for your name you have to stand out. My motive was to give the viewers a perspective from my eyes in the way I see things. It was not easy getting to the positions I am in today especially from being from a different place than New York, you have to teach yourself how to be strong and consistent. As time has went on with my work progression I’ve learned that everything comes in time. Flowers will be given when the time comes. Life is a waiting game teaching you to overcome obstacles and pursue what feels right. Taking chances can change your life if looked at in a positive mindset with determination.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Overall , New York City is a World of it’s own with unlimited amounts of amazing places and sights to see. But if I had to recommend anything I would definitely recommend getting an Airbnb in either Brooklyn or the LES, (Lower East Side), for a few days. There are tons of amazing food spots all over the city with a variety of cultured food to eat. In the Lower East Side there’s a spot called El Nuevo Amanecer. Quality food that tastes like home made cooking at a great price. On my free time which is usually on occasion, also like to stop over at LAAM’s on Orchard St. , or Bowery Showroom over on Stanton St. These two amazing spots hold a special place in my NYC Memories based off of the hospitality and contribution they bring to their communities. But my favorite part of it all is being able to goto the studios with my Bros. Any studio, any building, anywhere we make the best time out of it all.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my brothers I work closely with Dizzy, Low-so, Javan, Semi, Willy, and Kris, this is “Violation”. A lot of things would not be possible without the support from the people around me. When I first got involved with everyone on the team, Violation, I never thought that some day the relationship we had would build into the friendships we all share today.
