We had the good fortune of connecting with Pavielle Bookman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pavielle, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
There are so many people in the world right now who are searching for their place in life. They have no idea what they want to do next. They have achieved the goals they set for themselves, only to find that it isn’t at all fulfilling nor is it what they thought it would be. They are craving more meaning—a purpose. Through The Purpose Collective, LLC, I help people discover their life’s purpose by teaching them how to partner with God and tap into their gifts. Not only are my clients and students able to contribute to God’s work on Earth through the impact of their purpose in communities around the world, but they are also living more meaningful, fulfilling, and exciting lives. I’ve seen that when more people walk in their purpose, it ends up being a catalyst for others to live more intentionally.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Absolutely! When it was time for me to leave my job as a prosecutor in Miami, I went through a mini identity crisis. My identity was so wrapped up in my job that I thought, “who am I if I am no longer a prosecutor?” While in my new position, in a new state, I began to seek God intensely for the thing I was put on this earth to do.

The Purpose Collective was born out of this journey and revelation that I was put here to help others learn how to partner with God to discover their thing—their purpose. Through my company I host The Purpose Collective Podcast, a top-rated show that allows me to give free, innovative information about purpose and a front row seat to not only my teachings about purpose, but to the journey of many others as they walk in their purpose too. There is something about shared stories that makes us feel seen.

I also offer Positioned for Purpose Academy, a comprehensive course that serves as a playbook for discovering your purpose. It’s the only implementation program of its kind that teaches you the fundamentals of purpose, shows you how to discover it, and provides the tools to kickstart your discovery now.

What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand?

When I was 18 years old about to graduate from high school, I needed to provide a quote to go under my photo in the school yearbook. The quote I chose said something along the lines of, “the secret to my success is I learned at an early age that I was not God.” That remains true to this day. I got to where I am in business because I do my best to yield to God’s plans and direction. I make my own plans of course, because I believe that God can’t order steps that we don’t take, but when the spirit of God directs me to do something that diverges from my plan, I do it. Why? Because God is all knowing and He sees everything. My sight, on the other hand, is limited lol.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Ooooh Atlanta is full of good food. I’m a seafood lover so any place that has good seafood and a good ambience is where I would take them for dinner—either to Marcel, Poor Calvin’s, or Chops. If we need food on the go at any point, we cannot skip Slutty Vegan. I don’t drink so I personally have no idea where to go for drinks but people recommend Ticonderoga Club.

After we’ve had some good food, we would go wherever the Jukebox Band is playing. That band knows how to set a good vibe, which keeps me on the dance floor the whole time.

At some point, we must go to brunch. Toast on Lenox or Breakfast at Barneys are my go-tos.

For some fun, I would take them to Fairway Social, the Trap Museum, and Escape the Trap Atlanta. Depending on the year, we would definitely have to hit up a Hawks game and maybe go to Bear and Candle to make some candles.

For shopping, I like The Avalon. It has a nice mix of stores.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Yep! God. I’m not even trying to be deep, but The Purpose Collective would not be here if it wasn’t for Him because I would have never thought to do this on my own. The Bible deserves some credit too. I used to fall asleep reading the Bible because I was trying to read the King James Version. Once I got a study bible in a version that I could digest better, it was on! I get so much revelation and tips that apply to my everyday life.
