Meet Paul-Ann Gray | All Things Party Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Paul-Ann Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paul-Ann, how do you think about risk?
I am a jump person. I say that because I am always game for new things, new ideas. I am a learning junkie, I will spend hours learning new things, I think that is a passion of mine. Don’t put me in a box, I am not big on limitations. When I decide to do something new I pray about it, seek God first then move according to the Spirit. If the answer is yes to move forward I create a plan, identify what the worst-case scenario would be. I find at least two solutions to my worst-case scenario, then proceed with my plans. Because I have implemented this plan in my business I have not had any trouble taking risks.

What should our readers know about your business?
Since 2001 I have been a full-time business owner. I owned a formalwear boutique Once in a Lifetime Events for 13 years and now Party Divas. Both businesses have had the same goal to make our clients smile, not just a facial smile but a joy smile. I am dedicated to learning, I invest a good bit of money in learning and improving myself to be able to provide great service and products to my clients. Running a business is not easy and you must commit to finding the right people to fill in the gaps of where you fall short. When I decided to start my business I had no idea what it meant to run a successful business, I knew what I was good at and that’s what I wanted to do but there is a bigger side to running a business one that I learned the hard way but now I am 100 times wiser and I learned to seek out professionals that can do all the things that can create peace of mind, wealth and organization to a business. My advice to all who are considering starting a business, start with some SBA classes, an accountant and, an attorney. My biggest satisfaction now comes from encouraging and teaching others what I have learned along the way. I am an optimist and my company is and will always be about spreading joy and a little party never hurts no body.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably be the worst person to come visit (laugh out loud) I work all the time. I do love any place that has water so Amicalola Falls would be on my list for sure. Also because of my love of water, I’m big on seafood, but my Trinidadian heritage will cause me to take them to my favorite island spots Tassa Roti Shop in Cobb or International Roti House in Decatur.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Like celebrities accepting their awards always say, “First giving honor to God….” I am going to lay it out plain and simple. ALL of my success and advancements are due to God, His small gentle voice pushing and guiding me through on the days I can’t find the strength to believe in myself or fight the nah-sayers. But on an earthly side, my family has been with me even on the days I drive them nuts. My dad thinks I can do anything and I love him for that. My husband tolerates all my crazy ideas and has quit and been fired more times than I can count but he still shows up when I call him. Thank God he has a real career he can escape to. I love my family, I am truly blessed.
