We had the good fortune of connecting with Patty Delvalle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patty, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk-taking is at the heart of what I do. My creative process is both intuitive and expressive, which means creativity itself becomes an act of risk. Each time I start a new piece, I confront an inner struggle—vulnerability, anxiety, self-doubt, and the fear of how my work will be received. Yet, despite this discomfort, I choose to push through, resisting the fear in order to remain open and create authentically.
By embracing this process, I hope my vulnerability will connect with the viewer, offering something genuine and real. Sharing my work is another layer of risk, but it’s one I’m willing to take, if it means someone might make that connection.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Tell us more about your art. What sets you apart from others?

My art is a blend of intuitive creativity and faith, which brings a sense of hope and joy into each piece. What sets me apart is how I integrate my spiritual connection into the creative process, allowing my work to express something deeply personal while inspiring others.

What are you most proud of or excited about?

I’m proud that my art encourages others to embrace their authenticity. Two of my favorite collections, My Story and Dancing Through Gardens, explore the themes of freedom and self-discovery. These pieces reflect the journey of becoming who we’re meant to be and how our personal stories shape our identities.

How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy?

It wasn’t easy, but my faith in God and support from my family carried me through. Like many artists, I’ve faced self-doubt and challenges, but I stayed true to my vision. Being involved in art communities and serving on the board of a local art alliance has helped me grow as an artist and connect with others.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

I’ve learned to embrace imperfection and trust the creative process. Staying authentic is key, and I’ve come to see that community and connection are as important as the art itself. My work is about more than just me—it’s about inspiring and encouraging others.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

My art is a reflection of my faith and my journey. Through it, I hope to bring joy, hope, and inspiration to others, encouraging them to explore their own creativity and see the beauty in their personal stories. I believe in the power of art to connect us to something greater and to each other.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d kick off with a day exploring Downtown Woodstock and The Reeves House, right here at home. A stroll through Downtown Woodstock would give us a chance to explore its charming shops, boutiques, and art galleries. Then we’d visit The Reeves House, an art center with wonderful exhibits complete with a coffee and wine bar that has a great community vibe.

Next, we’d dedicate a day to Atlanta, packing in as many iconic sights as possible. Stops would include The High Museum of Art, the Georgia Aquarium, and The World of Coca-Cola, before indulging in Atlanta’s best pizza at Antico Pizza.

A day in Downtown Canton would be on the agenda too, where we’d visit the Menagerie on Main art gallery and possibly check out what’s happening at Local Color Studio. We’d also explore the shops and restaurants at The Mill on Etowah.

As an introvert, I’d need some downtime after all that activity, so a relaxing day at Lake Allatoona and some quiet time at home would be perfect. Finally, on the way back to the airport, we’d make sure to leave time for a hearty breakfast at The OK Cafe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wholeheartedly recognize that any success I’ve achieved is the result of God’s work in me and through my life. Forty years ago, I made Jesus my Lord and Savior, and He took my broken, chaotic life and transformed it into something beautiful. He gave me purpose, along with the gifts, talents, and dreams to pursue. I’m also deeply grateful for my family, and closest friends, who have been my greatest supporters and cheerleaders throughout this journey.
