We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Ladonis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrick, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe that being authentic is the original success factor to thrive in any endeavor. When SCALES premiered in 2018, I was a novice to the filmmaking industry. However, I did possess authenticity. I believe in creating and sustaining relationships. I truly believe in how I present myself and how I treat others. It’s my tenacity that leads me to push forward with getting my series in front of larger audiences. Two years later, SCALES is now licensed on two major streaming platforms. The series also has over 100,000 views on Youtube. My brand is what some would call, “authentically transparent”. Whether I am working with my production team, or creating new partnerships , I approach every conversation with sincere openness and authenticity. My energy attracts openness. When people feel that you model consistency in your mood, work ethic, and overall demeanor it attracts others to you. Being who you are and comfortable “self-awareness” is the most important factor to the successes that I have been fortunate to gain and will continue to make.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating SCALES began as a passion project, but I quickly realized that my experiences as a corporate Human Resource executive would prove to be a key ingredient to spark the flames of success for the production. I try to write every single day. I continue to study my craft by taking on-line writing classes, webinars on filmmaking and pitching. The industry is changing everyday especially in the year of Covid. I love to learn. Professionally, my day is mapped out on ways to create and grow your audience. Promoting the series has put me on a summer press and promotions tour. I have interviewed with several media streams. Whether it’s been with Podcasts, Print, and Digital Publications my days are actively busy. I absolutely love it! When you google Patrick Ladonis, the first thing I want people to see if SCALES. My professional busy is driving viewers and networks to the series and building the right connections.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Barcelona Inman Park. It’s right near the Highlands area and it’s become one of my favorite eateries in the city. My favorite tapas dish to grab are the scallops and my favorite drink is the Barcelona Gintonic. The outdoor patio allows you to get lost in people watching and enjoying the classic sounds of 90s R&B that allows you to remember and reflect on music greats from the past.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would shout out the tribe that’s been a part of the creative journey since day one.Naturally, it consists of my mom, aunts, and the entire SCALES cast and crew. They encourage me daily to deliver my best work and self every single day!
