We had the good fortune of connecting with Patricia Kelly Marsh, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patricia Kelly, how does your business help the community?
ShhParty App is an innovative Social Media Entertainment platform that economically empowers DJs and entertainers worldwide through free monetization features for in-person and virtual events. While promoting creativity and innovation using a shared revenue model, the mutual financial benefit of ShhParty App will help the world community maximize their social media use. The vision of ShhParty App is to create a Global Music Streaming Community while shifting the current social media paradigm from exploitation to economic empowerment in the most entertaining way. Over the next 5 years, the goal is to increase users of ShhParty App, first DJs, through in-person and virtual events around the US in robust music markets, starting with Atlanta, then to the following: NYC, LA, Houston, Miami, Las Vegas, and Chicago. But that is the start; the global mission includes DJs and entertainers of all kinds using ShhParty App to make a positive global impact.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a serial entrepreneur established from my inventive mind. My inventions started at 10, when I wanted to patent “pre-padded underwear.” There is a story behind this invention. The spark was in Mrs. Anderson’s 3rd Grade Class at Love T. Nolan Elementary School. I recall learning about George Washington Carver and other black inventors during February Black History Month. I was in awe of this man who created so many things out of the peanut and longed to be an inventor myself from that moment. So in the 4th grade, when I got my period, I wanted to make that journey easy for all my friends and girls everywhere. I recall writing down the idea and searching the World Wide Web on AOL, lol! Because that’s what we called it. I found out the cost of the patent and even called my attorney neighbor to see if there were patent lawyers in her office. Alas, my stepmother never gave me the money. 9 years later, I saw my invention on sale at Walmart. It was then that I would always pursue manifesting my inventions. Little did I know that from 10 to 36 years old, I would invent and file patents for successful technology businesses. This is how I got to where I am today. I had to overcome economic challenges, straight-up failure on my medical licensing exam, to failing in pursuing vast visions for my platforms. I got used to pivoting and what I call my life’s mantra of FTSO (Figure That S*it Out). When I FTSO, I put faith over fear, triumph over tears, and movement over stagnation. I’ve learned that no matter what invention I’m creating or turning into a business, I will be utterly successful if I do not stop.

ShhParty App in its version today is the beginning of the dream and global mission and vision I have for it. It has become the worldwide phenomenon I always knew it could when I first conceived of the idea. I want the world to know that the invention of ShhParty App included them with a vision of them being economically empowered using it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot in the city is SkyLounge. It’s where I take all my friends when they come to visit for the incredible cocktails and that view is a great way to display the City of Atlanta in a way they remember forever. Some of the most interesting places, I’ve found in the renovated spots like Lil’ Five Points (lol), East Atlanta by Glenwood Ave, and downtown College Park where I’m from, have added so many great restaurants with amazing eats. These are a few of my favorite things!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to my husband and my family. They are my village! They have been there from the beginning, encouraging me, sowing into me, cultivating my passion, and spreading my inventions abroad. If there is anything that I’ve ever needed, they did whatever it took to help me utterly succeed. They have weathered the storms and experienced the rainbows with me. I love them and do this for them.
