We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrice Royale and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrice, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be “she had heart”. Throughout history, all change agents had this one thing in common, heart. It was their heart, their belief in self, that every action, big or small would have impact. I want my legacy to be the same. I want people to know that no matter what life through at me… I kept trying, I kept failing..and I kept getting back up. I want people to know that it’s not about where you come from, who you know, or what you do that determines who you are.. it’s you. It’s your choices, your decisions, but most importantly your heart that makes you… YOU.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an author, speaker, and designer. I help you define, design, and develop your life and business. I believe that we all have our own divine purpose in life and it’s in that purpose, that makes us different. We can be in the same field, but our mission can be vastly different. For me, I want people to go for the dream. I want them to be inspired and have unshakable faith in themselves to just try.
Coming from a very small town. It was hard thinking outside of the bubble at times. It’s easy to go along with the crowd but it takes courage to step outside the line and walk your own path. It’s not easy to be the one walking alone, but remembering that “if not you, then who?” helps keep me going. I was able to overcome many challenges like imposter syndrome, by remembering that we are all enough. We are all amazing. We just have to have the courage to walk in it. It’s easy to feel like you’re no-one special. You see these people on social media and you want to immediately compare your success to them…but don’t. Everyone has their own story behind the success.
I wanted to be able to contribute something of value to the world. I wanted to have a lingering imprint that I was here and this is a snippet of what I had to say. I have always had a deep love for books, they contain so much wisdom, knowledge and insight that has been and will be passed down for generations to come. As small as it may be in the sea of amazing authors, it’s still a great feeling knowing that my echo is out there.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to go to the lakes. There is something about the scenery that just settles my soul. I would want to take them with me to the lake to meditate and release any built up stress. Some other fun things to do or that I’d like to do, would be zip lining. I am a fan of adventure and thrill. We only live once so why not make the most of it.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am thankful for my small yet mighty tribe. I wouldn’t be who I am without the support of all of my family and friends. Here a a few, but not limited to, people who I’d like to shoutout. My mom, being my biggest cheerleader since birth, Thanks to my brother and sister-in law, for all the pep talks and encouragement. Moise Tabon for all of your support along this journey means a lot. Christine Handy, for really showing up for me when I needed it. Tiffany Hampton, for being the sis I never wanted, but needed. Khalil Abdullah for keeping me focused. Antonio Santoro for being a light in the darkness. Momma Ethel, for being a BOSS of excellence., Auntie and Uncle Ron, for all of your wisdom. and My Papaw for standing in the gaps when necessary. There’s so many more so please know that all of your support matters. Thank you all for everything. I love you.
