We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paris, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision was leaving a marriage that no longer served me or help me grow mentally or emotionally. I started over as a single mother of 2 in September 2022. I left everything I knew and started from nothing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the owner of multiple businesses but I’m birthing a new baby named, World of P Love Beauty Suites, located in Kennesaw, GA.

What sets me apart from others is that I’m finding a solution to peoples hair needs. I also wanted to help entrepreneurs feel like a boss, have their own space, and their own hours so they don’t have to answer to anyone.

I can honestly say that I am very proud of myself. I had a vision of opening up a salon since I was a little girl. The fact that I started my life completely over with two children, move to one of my dream cities, and open up a luxury salon makes me teary eyed.

I can tell you that the only reason how and why this happened for me is because I believed, I never gave up, I have strong faith, and a great relationship with God.

One day, I finally decided to get my business started. I researched and found a trustworthy Angel investor that believed in my vision and the goals I had for my new business and he loved it. He told me to get everything that I needed to start my new dream salon and that he will give me the funds for it. Not only is he an investor in my new business but he also gave me funds to start my life completely over in ATL. I think God for him every day because he has really been an angel in my life in such a short amount of time. I decided that after I pay him back, I will give him a percentage of my company because he truly changed my life.

I also have a new business named Fortune Institute, Where I help start up businesses find trust worthy investors just like how I did.
It’s so many people with big dreams and goals that they want to accomplish but just don’t have the funding for it. I want to help people find investors to fund their dreams just like how I did.

I’m super excited about being in a new city meeting new like-minded people and living out my dreams.

I got to this point in my life by staying consistent, trusting that I could do whatever I put my mind to, and working harder than everyone else around me. I started a hair business while I was in college and that was the first step of me actually learning business. Every day is not going to be a $500 day every day is not going to be a $100 day. As an entrepreneur, it’s a must to have multiple streams of income and understand that if you don’t work you don’t eat, period!
A lot of challenges that I was able to overcome is watching people on YouTube who have similar stories. I wanted to know what they were doing before they started business what they did during and what did they do to overcome. A lot of entrepreneurs put their stories out there so new entrepreneurs don’t have to go through the same things. I’ve also learned to stay grateful always. Being grateful is the seed for more!

A lesson that I learned along the way is that yes you must be nice to everyone but please separate friendship and business. Make sure you write down your business principles and stand on it no matter what anyone says.

I want people to know that I’m a true lady boss who loves to help others.
No matter your situation right now please understand that it is temporary. Back in September I manifested talking to people who were interested in hearing my story. I manifested myself in a new city, new car, new apartment, all while I was at my lowest.

Most success stories come from when people are at their lowest. If God can make all of this happen for me, trust me, he can make way greater things happen for you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends are in town most of the time they are only here for business but one of the restaurants I live in is Augustines in downtown Atlanta. I literally live in this place. You have to try their lamb chops and their Brussel sprouts, oh my gosh thank me later! I am a foodie. I also love takeout so if we wanted takeout I would definitely order from Sheba lounge. This place put about 10 pounds on me the first month I moved to Atlanta.

For brunch, I would take them to Pancake Social, Poach Social, Atlanta Breakfast Club, or First Watch.

I’m a mother and I have mom friends so we would take the kids to either the aquarium or to Six Flags.

Depends on the day, I would also take them to Animal Safari which is about an hour outside of Atlanta in Pine Mountain, GA. This is where you are able to feed animals such as giraffes, cows, goats, and many more. It is such a fun and great experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes. I want to shout out God of course but the biggest influence on my life has been my grandmother. She raised me from birth and has been there every step of the way. I watched my grandmother work 12 hour shifts being a RN (registered nurse), taking care of the community as a hospice nurse, and always making sure I had everything I wanted. NOT NEEDED lol. She always went above and beyond to make sure I was good.

I also joined an amazing organization called Run the Play, that has helped be grow in my business and personal life. This is a mantra made by my mentor/coach @newageceo Mr. Justin Owens of Atlanta, GA. Sometimes you need to be connected to people who can speak life into you and that’s what he does for me and my business partners. Not only does he speak life into us, he’s trains us on how to be amazing people and great entrepreneurs.
