We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Lue-Hing and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pamela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After being downsized for the third time, I had no choice. Actually, I did have a choice and I chose to take a chance on me. Developing people and inspiring them to live on purpose is one of my purposes in this lifetime and a sheer passion for me. At the time, I was a single mom of a son who was a senior in high school and a daughter in kindergarten, so there was no time to waste.
When I walked out that third door for the last time, I sat down and listed all of my experiences, gifts and things that I had done throughout my lifetime and it all pointed to coaching and entrepreneurship. I took a life coaching certification course and never looked back. I have always coached people in one way or another, whether it was being a high school track coach or director in Mary Kay Cosmetics, Inc.
For the last 13 years, I have coached many people concerning life and business and have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours figuring it out, I understand what a coaching business needs to be successful.. However, I now solely focus on coaching women coaches and helping them create the systems, structures and strategies to build their business online. It gives me great fulfillment to share my knowledge and experience and help other women coaches package their brilliance and take it to the marketplace.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Twelve years ago, I became a Certified Christian Life Coach after being downsized for the third time. I have always coached people in one way or another. I was a high school track coach. For ten years, I coached people as a director in Mary Kay Cosmetics, Incorporated.
Real clarity in my coaching came about 3 years ago. Prior to that time, I coached lots of different clients and had been diligently searching how to truly make a coaching business work in this online space. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out. I finally got it; I finally understand what a coaching business needs to be successful. So, I have packaged it all together and brought it to the marketplace to save other women coaches time, money and tons of frustration in building an online business.
We empower and help women coaches build confidence while guiding them through personal, coach, entrepreneurship and leadership development. They have the assurance of working with a power-packed team that provides support in helping them move in their purpose while bringing their vision to life. We position women coaches to discover and create a better them in the process. Our team becomes an extension of them and their vision. We value integrity and excellence and focus on purpose-driven impact, a nurturing community and transformation while providing phenomenal client experiences. When coaches join our movement, they will have a coach and team that truly care about their vision. We firmly believe each of our client’s successes are our success.
What sets us apart is our “one-stop-shop” concept for coaches. They no longer have to look in several places to build their business, we offer coaching, business, brand and website development all in one place. This saves them time, money and frustration trying to figure it out on their own. We help them build the systems, structures and strategies that drive a successful business. I am over the moon excited about our Coach with Confidence 12 Week Online Academy and my latest book, “Powerhouse Coach in Motion: The Ultimate Playbook for New Coaches.”
What I do gives me a deep sense of fulfillment by helping another woman achieve her goals and dreams as a coach. The joy of empowering women to move in and on purpose helps me fulfill one of my purposes which is to help a woman impact those who God has called her to impact. In doing so, I am building and living my legacy and blessing my family with the freedom of my time, financially and the inspiration for my children as they watch their mother create a successful multi-million dollar business that transforms lives for the better.
My lessons are many because everyday is different and the lessons are plentiful. Here are my top three lessons.
1. Perfection is not possible, just get it done
2. Growing a business is all about focus, timing and having the right team is everything
3. Success is just around the corner, so don’t stop until you see your vision unfold
It gives me great joy to share my knowledge and experience and help other women coaches package their brilliance and bring their products and services to the marketplace. My journey has seen highs and lows but I would not trade it for anything. It’s been tough but somehow when you see progress, the tough times are so worth it. I overcome challenges by putting my faith in God to work and doing what I can and letting God do the rest, aligning myself with the right people who can help me and hold me accountable and finishing what I start.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Although, my first love is my hometown Detroit, Michigan, I would say, Charlotte, North Carolina is one of the best places to live and visit. The city has a historical yet artistic feel with tons of southern charm, hospitality and exponential growth. Our excursions would begin right here in what we call, Uptown Charlotte. We would spend a couple of days experiencing everything from Romare Bearden Park, museums, historical landmarks, the Panther Stadium to roof-top fine dining overlooking the City of Charlotte.
We could not visit Uptown without taking in a show or two. We would spend a few days enjoying breakfast, lunch, dinner, shopping and site-seeing in the quaint areas surrounding the city including Huntersville, Matthews, Troutman and finish with dinner and a boat ride on Lake Norman.
The great thing about Charlotte is you have the best of both worlds, the mountains and the ocean. We would spend a couple of days in Asheville touring the Biltmore Estate and wrap up our time together at Myrtle Beach watching the sunset and taking it all in!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Bishop Desmond Tutu once said, “To stand out in the crowd, only means you are standing on the shoulders of others.” I came across these golden words of truth more than 35 years ago and I have never forgotten them. Although, God has blessed me with many beautiful souls who have poured into my life, coaches and mastermind colleagues who have transformed the way I think, act and do life and many books that have expanded my mind; two words could not be more befitting: My Mother.
My father transitioned from this life when I was a mere four years old. My mother put her hands to the plow of motherhood and raised me while working as a cashier for 18 years making $10 an hour. She put me through private schools for 12 years and paved my way for college. She has stood by me with every triumph and every defeat I experienced or created. When both my son and daughter came into the world, she was standing right by my side and when I almost lost my life and my mind, she was right there to nurse me back to health.
In fact, her green thumb led her to raising gardens for over 60 years. She would grow, pick, clean, cook, and package some of the most delicious fruits and vegetables, then place them in a cooler on dry ice and hop on a Greyhound Bus. For more than 23 years, she would ride 8 hours from Detroit to Milwaukee and when we moved, over 18 hours from Detroit to Charlotte, North Carolina carrying those coolers packed full of nutrition and love.
Today, I have the precious, humbling and absolutely blessed opportunity to be responsible for her happiness, health and peace as her sole care-giver. I would not trade this season of our lives for anything in the world or the next! I am forever grateful to God for bestowing me with such an incredible honor!
