We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Gray Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela Gray, what principle do you value most?
Integrity. There was a song that I remember from my childhood. I remember singing it in the back seat of my mom’s car with my sister. It is a fond memory, but looking back it was also very powerful because it was teaching me what I believe is the most valuable principle in life. It is the basis of my work and how I choose to live. It says “integrity means always being honest making sure you tell the truth, so people can depend on whatever you say. Integrity means being fair in every situation, doing what is right in every part of your day.” It is a mentality that says I want to be dependable instead of I want to be perfect. Living perfectly is impossible, but living with integrity is a choice we can make to live our highest truth every moment of every day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve always been a seer of different possibilities. I am a person that is always looking for the most efficient way to do something. Work smarter, not harder. There have been many things that I have tried, and I see them all as stepping stones along this journey called life. When I look back, I see that the hard things were sharpening qualities, gifts I already had to assist me in this journey of becoming. I have had many experiences that felt like failures, but really, they were the pre-test providing me with what I need to know for the real thing.

I don’t particularly appreciate calling what I do a business; that feels so impersonal. I want the world to know that I am a mission-driven individual committed to social unity and social equality, and I realize that work begins and ends with me. It also begins and ends with you. Why? Because our humanity is inextricably caught up in one another. We are here in the world together to create with one another to enhance ourselves and one another. As I transform myself and live in integrity to values that honor our equality, honor the unity in our diversity, all the problems between us cease to exist because we realize that We Are One. What I teach is a part of my personal practice, and it is sacred and working with me is a sacred experience where we come to a greater realization of who we really are to one another.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That is an interesting question. I like to try new things, so I would probably do some research about the newest restaurant here in Richmond. I am a foodie and we have some amazing restaurants here and I love trying traditional ethnic foods. I have not had fufu and egusi soup yet but I am dying to try it. We’d make a drive out to try it. I also like cultural experiences, we have tons of cultural festivals so we would hit up that. Finally, I would want to do some self-care and spiritual maintenance so maybe a check out a float spa and head out into nature to commune with Spirit. The devil’s bathtub is a place I have always wanted to visit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I always what to acknowledge and appreciate my mother Linda Gray. She was a pioneer and activist in her own right and in her own way. She demonstrated to me how to lead change with courage and embrace others with kindness and compassion even when they are not treating you with dignity and respect. She taught me to trust in myself and she has always provided me with support to be the best version of me that I can be. There is so much more I can say about her influence and contribution to my work, but I will save it for my next book.
