Meet Pamela Bass | CEO & Broker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Bass and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pamela, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Virtue is the essence of my character and character matters. I feel no matter how good the service or product people remember how they are received and how they are treated. I am certain sustainable success comes with walking virtuously and operating in excellence with consistency. As for what habits play an important role in my life, I have made it a habit to operate with virtue in every area and aspect of my life and to treat people with honor and respect.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Virtuous Realty Group and Pamela Bass are one in value, mission, and determination, with the goal and desire to provide excellence in every decision both business and personally. Strategizing for success to me looks like keeping God first, working hard, and being a shining example of what success looks like. Striving for the 110% is the goal for us and we do that by going the extra three miles.
Consistency, discipline, and determination have been my fuel. Where I am today wasn’t what I envisioned. I was working a job I loved, and I aspired to reach the highest heights there. But when there is more on the inside of you, it will not let you settle for less than your abilities and gifts. Building a brand tells a story. I’ve learned through this journey, myself, my brand, and my story are all intertwined. One doesn’t operate without the other. The story doesn’t begin when the brand is born, it starts well before. For me, the story began in 2013, when I wrote down the name of my company. The dream becoming a reality started in 2018 when I took a big leap of faith, left my job, and opened the doors to VRG in 2019 with no navigation and self-funding.
Getting to where we are in business today, has been a collaborative effort. As you can imagine, walking away from stability and what you’re familiar with comes with its own set of challenges and entrepreneurship comes with a lot of challenges as well. However, understanding your “WHY’ and the purpose for going into business helps to adjust your perspective and realign your desire to continue.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a self-proclaimed foodie, good food and a great environment are always a must. To start off the visit, we would visit Jackson Fine Art, have dinner at Storico Fresco Alimentarie Ristorante, and end the night at the Blind Pig Parlour Bar. The following day would be a family-friendly day, starting with a trip to Sky View Atlanta, afterward, a stroll through Krog Market, a little shopping at Shops Around Lenox, and dinner at Bones Restaurant. We would end the visit with a trip to the Georgia Aquarium and brunch at the Flying Biscuit Cafe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Some people were gifted with money and resources growing up, but my mom gifted my siblings and me with respect, manners, and the importance of treating people well. Her strength is what has driven me to always go the extra three miles not just in business, but in every area of my life. Witnessing my mother’s intentionality in how she managed what she was given, and how she made it a point not to focus on what we did or did not have, groomed me not to focus on the resources, but rather, be a good steward of people, my time, talent, and resources.
Wearing many hats, we don’t often realize how much those around us sacrifice and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of following and executing our dream. My kids, Sederick, KeeMarion, and Kennidi, have truly been some troopers and the best cheerleaders a mom could ask for. Everything I do, I strive to ensure they understand their role in the dream.
I would be remised if I didn’t mention my husband and how his love, support, encouragement, and belief have made the journey of entrepreneurship less daunting. Sometimes we don’t always see the how or what we are capable of, but my husband saw what I didn’t see. He has loved and continues to love me with such vigor and support. When I was experiencing the loss of loved ones back-to-back, he encouraged me to keep going, not just with his words, but through action. He believed in me before he fully understood the vision and he has walked with me step by step, hand in hand through every leap of faith taken to make the dream a reality.
