We had the good fortune of connecting with Paley & Erik Carmona and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paley & Erik, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor in our success is the support we have from our customers, friends, and above all family. We wouldn’t be here without the major support we have gotten.

What should our readers know about your business?
We own a chamoy business in Kansas City. We sell chamoy, chamoy candies and agua frescas. We do pop-up events and finished last year with 55 events done in less than 8 months. We started shipping out to the whole country mid-last year. and have had the pleasure of shipping to over 30 states so far. We have also been able to get into over 10 restaurants ranging from KS-MO-CA.

We have never felt so pleased with the support we have gotten from everyone. What sets us apart is everything. From the smallest thing in a different logo/color scheme. But also with the smiles and happy faces, we give people when we present our product. It was not something that happened overnight. And although we feel like it’s been a tornado of success we have been blessed to be as far as we are. We are forever grateful for everything and everyone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If our best friends were coming into town we would recommend going to something simple like 7brew for coffee. Then Taco Naco for lunch, especially if it’s a Tuesday. They have 3 for $9 tacos. They have the best chicken al pastor! Then for dinner, we would go to Q39 for bbq. Which has been one of the best BBQ places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and co- owner, Erik. He has been my rock through it all. He has helped me through all my crazy ideas and random things I have cooked up. He has been the one to reach out to friends and family and was like “Hey try this or that!” and he is honestly the face of our business. If it wasn’t for Erik telling me that it was ok to pursue my dreams, Carmona’s Chamoy wouldn’t be here.
