Meet Pailynn Pashelle | Serial Entrepreneur & Graduate Student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pailynn Pashelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pailynn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was that I wanted to make an impact on people’s lives. I wanted to do something that would make people feel good as they should! I wanted to cure a problem. When I was younger, I used to be bullied in school for having short hair because my sister cut it. I began to use all these cheap products from the beauty supply store that never worked and I got so tired of it. I started researching healthy natural oils that were helpful in increasing hair growth and repairing damaged hair. I tested out a few oils and I finally came up with my Potion. I was using it for about five months and I was so shocked on how quick and healthy my hair grew. I couldn’t wait to share it with the world! Most people in society aren’t confident with their hair and they begin to start feeding into the negativity that they hair is ugly. My goal was to change this thought. Your hair isn’t ugly, embrace the greatest gift that God gave you. I wanted to implement a product that people can benefit from and for it to also solve a problem. My natural hair care brand, “Pai’s Potions”, was designed to express to individuals that wearing your natural hair is okay. Natural beauty is the best beauty of all.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my businesses to make an impact on the world, I have a point to prove. It’s not about making money, but to cure a problem and show people that no matter how bad your story is from the past, you have time to make your future the best. I always been such a helpful person and a person that someone could reach out to when they needed me. It wasn’t always the same for me but I learned from it. No, it wasn’t easy getting where I am now but I am grateful for all the obstacles I faced because it made me stronger and I am able to overcome anything. I learned from my mistakes and turned them into something positive. When people said I wasn’t going to make it through college or I’m not going to be successful, I took what they said and used it as motivation for me to go harder. They encouraged me to chase everything they said I couldn’t have. I have reached my fullest potential and I have been achieving every goal I said I would. When I was younger, I always told myself that I was going to be self-employed when I got older. Working three jobs throughout my four years of college, I graduated with a bachelors of science in criminal justice but I won’t stop there. I’m currently a graduate student enrolled in college pursuing a masters degree in criminal justice. I have always been a hustler. I also currently work as an independent contractor case manager. I provide skills training and support to individuals based on their behavioral needs. My current goal is to graduate in a few years, go back to school to get my doctorate and open my own forensic science laboratory. I want to achieve this goal while also being an entrepreneur and I will. You can do anything you put your mind to! Just stay consistent, devoted and your dreams will be reality in no time. One lesson I learned throughout my journey was that, everyone can’t go where you going you have to leave them behind and its for your own good. Sometimes you have to meet them at the top.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s so many people that deserve to be recognized for being apart of my success. I would first love to thank God, who is the main important person in my life. I couldn’t have got this far without him guiding me along the way.
Next, I would truly love to thank my mothers, Patricia, Sholanda, Rochelle, and Rebecca. These are the most amazing women in my life that pushed me to be the most intelligent, successful woman I am today. I am grateful to have these four women in my life as they stayed committed and devoted to make sure I always stayed on the right track. My mothers taught me to believe in myself and my dreams no matter what anybody else said.
I also want to thank my siblings Cj, Freddy, Kim, Tamika, and Karen for being my best friends I was born to have. I want to thank them for sticking with me through the rough times and being a shoulder to lean on when I needed them the most. They are the ones who see my vision. When I become discouraged to keep going, they push me to my full potential.
Lastly, want to thank all my customers and everybody who believed in me and my brand. I want to thank you all for supporting me throughout my journey. My business wouldn’t been able to prosper without support!
