We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Moyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started working in aesthetics and alternative medicine almost 10 years ago after working in the traditional healthcare system for over a decade. It wasn’t until about that time that I starting thinking of opening my own practice. In my career as a healthcare professional, I was blessed to be able to learn how a medical office is ran from top-to-bottom and how a medical office should flow to optimally serve its patients, staff, and practice owners. I learned so much with my exposure to small private practice and hospital systems that I began consulting with various businesses on the side and began to develop an idea of what I would want my own practice to look and feel like if I had one. I also found where there is a demand for aesthetic and wellness centers like what Rooty Aesthetics is now, a middle of the road practice with a realistic idea that there’s a time and a place for traditional medicine but also a huge need for accessible and reasonably affordable preventative and regenerative medicine and cleaner, aesthetic and skincare options. We have something for everyone.

I’m a Medical Aesthetician, Healthcare Professional, Semi-Permanent Makeup Artist, Business Consultant, and Founded Paisley James Consulting in 2020. I’ve always aimed for the highest standards in medical spa and business operations and bring nearly two decades of business operations, healthcare and aesthetic experience to my clinic in Cartersville, GA. With my medical background and credentials, I found myself blessed to work in many capacities in wellness centers, medical spas, chiropractic offices, and doctors offices throughout my career which led me to independently establishing Rooty Aesthetics in 2023. Our name says it all – we practice a root-cause protocol in all our wellness and skincare methods and the definition of “rooty” is the state of being in an earthy, relaxed, or nestled environment – a place of comfort where everything goes as usual, and mood is chill – can also be associated with a level of experience or longevity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many great places and diversity all around the Atlanta area. Since we are located in Cartersville, a lot of our favorite spots nearby are located north of Atlanta or here in the heart of Downtown Cartersville, and we love to explore all the beautiful outdoors has to offer here too.

Day One – With 3,000 lush acres to explore nearby at Barnsley Gardens Resort and numerous activities to discover, we would start with overnight accommodations in one of their casually elegant cottages. We would enjoy farm-to-table cuisine at the Woodlands, overlooking the championship golf course for brunch. Then the rest of the weekend awaits to uncover the magic of Barnsley Resort, a relaxing massage in The Spa, reconnecting over a round of golf, and horse back riding. We’ll explore the Manor House Ruins, a 19th century Italianate villa and one-of-a-kind garden. Come evening, we will dine al fresco or under the covered pavilion at the Beirgarten and gather around the two-sided fireplace and raise a glass to our favorite teams playing on all the outdoor tv’s, enjoy live music around our private fire pit, kids will love cornhole and even our dogs settle in for extra snuggles and treats.
Day Four – Taking it back near home, visit the local farmers market in downtown Cartersville, browse local vendors, pick up fresh produce and a cold tap beer from Drowned Valley Brewery. Enjoy shopping downtown at the many boutiques, & family fun activities like face painting and bouncy houses for the kiddos. We’ll spend the afternoon with an easy hike at Pine Mountain to enjoy the breathtaking, mountain-top views overlooking Lake Allatoona.
Day Five – Visit nearby downtown Woodstock, enjoy shopping, lunch on the patio at Salt Factory, their muscles are phenomenal. Finish the day with live music and the best skinny marg on the rooftop at Pure Taqueria.
Day Six – Enjoy a full day of sun and fun, floating, boating and riding jet ski’s on Lake Allatoona, stopping for lunch at Allatoona Grill’s outdoor patio where they have the best burgers and refreshing specialty cocktails.
Day Seven – Head over to downtown Canton for lunch, grab a burger at Community Burger or one of the many new restaurants opening. Pop in Reformation Brewery to grab a beer before checking out all the booths and unique shopping at the Mill on Etowah. Heading back, we’ll stop by Big Door Vineyard’s and watch the sunset with a wine flight or slushie, charcuterie board and light dessert.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be able to show gratitude to all the colleagues, business owners, coworkers, physicians, friends, family, and loved ones that helped in someway of getting me here without first giving thanks to the Almighty God, giving Him credit for orchestrating a life, although not always easy, full of lessons.
