We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, what is the most important factor behind your success?
When it comes to Chef Paige’s Kitchen, I believe the most important factor behind my success is my ambition. I’ve always been driven and always will be. My ambition is driven by the success that I hope for in the future. Being a Christian, I know God has a plan for me and he has great things in store for me.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
One thing that stands out from my business compared to others, is that I am a 16 year-old black female. I have had my business since I was about 11 and have only made it even better. I’m still learning lessons as I continue, but I have a strong foundation that keeps me in order. Also, with God being my Christ and Savior, I can always look to him for guidance. I couldn’t have done accomplished anything without my family, friends, and mentors. I want people to know that my story is still being written and while I may be young, I am driven, ambitious, and determined to accomplish all my goals and won’t let anything or anyone stop that.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends was visiting me in Atlanta I would first start off my taking them to the city. I love being in Atlanta, walking around, and just soaking in the city life. I would also take them to the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coke, to some malls, and to some fun parks. To finish the night out, we would go to a movie and eat in the city while enjoying the view. We would probably also have a “chill” day where we would just have fun at the house. We would get in our pjs and binge watch Netflix shows and movies, make food, and eat desserts. We would also go celebrity watching and see what celebrities we could fine. I hope one day I can meet my ALL time favorite celebrity, Beyoncé. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In my story, I owe a lot of credit to my family. My parents have always supported my new ventures and ideas. They very well prepared me for business industry with them both being successful leaders in their own ways. My brother “RL” never let me give up on my dreams when I was feeling like quitting and stood by my side through all the ups and downs in our lives. My grandparents were also very big supporters, my grandma “Mot Mot” always encouraged me to follow my dreams and inspired my love for cooking. One of my many great mentors, Doctor. Sarah Holcomb, helped me strive in a non-diverse community, and helped me come up with ways to stand up for the black community, one being creating a African American Leadership Club at a white institute.
