We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I really got into health and fitness when I was in college at the University of Georgia. Ultimately, I wanted to be the kind of resource I needed when I was starting my fitness journey. I teach people the skills and habits they need to change their lifestyle so they can feel (and be) more in control of their health. A lot of times fitness professionals create a situation where clients are dependent on them; that’s a disservice to the client.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A lot of times when someone hires a fitness professional they receive a workout or meal plan to follow. This is a short term solution. My business was inspired by my own experiences, as well as the experiences of people I know. There was a need for longterm solutions that were sustainable.

As a former teacher, I am comfortable explaining and breaking down concepts. So, when I made my business plan, I included course & resource creation, as well a 1:1 coaching. I believe that these methods will allow me to best serve the most clients.

The most important thing I’ve learned is to stay true to my beliefs and convictions. Rather than conforming to what people are used to, it’s important to be able to articulate why your service is beneficial.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let me be honest, I am at home body through-and-through. A good time for me includes eating eating at restaurants I’ve never been to, preferably black owned, and hanging out wherever my friends are. If it’s in the fall and there’s a home game, we’re going to Athens to cheer on the Dawgs. National Champs baby!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother. She has encouraged me through every phase of creating my business. She has listened to countless rants about the fitness industry and how I will do business differently.
