We had the good fortune of connecting with Ormond White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ormond, what do you attribute your success to?
Motto: “Let Me Cater To You,” Says it all.
The number one most important factor behind my catering company is SERVICE. The willingness, attentiveness, level of care & courtesy that my team & I render to every single client is most important. We want your experience with Ormond’s Catering to be unforgettable. Our signature is the savoring flavor of all our premium meats which are marinated, smoked & grilled to perfection. Flavor & Service is the success of our brand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My Catering Career started by accident and out of necessity. Formally trained as a Multimedia Artist, at Rinehart School of Sculpture (MFA) @ Maryland Institute College of Art 2003, I thought my journey would lead me to New York City to pursue performance art but instead it lead me back to my elementary school where I began teaching performance & visual arts. lol. While teaching, I would post videos of me singing on social media which attracted a local event venue, Soiree Event Venue of Canton, & they offered me the position of Performance Artist in Residence. We would produce events as a way to promote the venue. Our first event, “Wine Down Wednesdays,” 2017, is where it all got started, in addition to singing and producing visiting musical guest acts, I saw the need to feed/cook for the audience. Thus ORMOND’S CATERING was born & the rest is history. We have been going strong catering for Weddings, Graduations, Birthday Parties, Corporate Gatherings etc., & have recently expanded traveling abroad catering in cities such as New Orleans, La., Dallas, Tx., and Atlanta,Ga.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would visit the Zaza Sky Lounge which is fabulous rooftop establishment located in Jackson Ms., for cocktails. We would later dine off the beaten path at The Mermaid Cafe overlooking the 18th hole at Lake Caroline of Madison. Later we would kick back an enjoy a movie & dessert at Malco Renaissance Cinema Grill. Lastly, we would slumber at Chateau Myrtledale Bed & Breakfast where we would enjoy breakfast in bed the following morning.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Chateau Myrtledale Bed & Breakfast of historic Canton, Ms., Desmond Beach, Artist of NYC, Dotsofjoybyjireh.etsy.com, of Dallas,Tx., Key Therapy Counseling of Highland Village.
