We had the good fortune of connecting with Oluwatosin Tubo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Oluwatosin, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The most important habits that helped me succeed in life include : being a kind & honest person ( as my heart grew and I got happier I’m always in a greater work space to have a successful day ) , waking up early every morning and thanking God for life ( mandatory I wake up 7am everyday, early birds always gets the worm but also to thank God for another day because life is not guaranteed ), taking time to think about my action before I decide on goin thru ( when you rethink your plans you will get an insight of what you are about to do and will it have a negative or positive outcome ) , spending time/ mentoring under someone I see as a positive inspiration, purposing my own “success” I write my goals down & gradually find a way to accomplish my mission ( I’m able too note down effective steps to accomplishing my goal easier when written down also my brain will have a sharper memory) , creating multiple sources of income ( “self made millionaires do not rely on one singular income.. they develop multiple streams ” Corley Thomas said, and last but no least main importantly to help a another hand in need has always been one of the habits I was raised on that lead to my path in success. ( the more blessings you give onto the world, the more blessings you shall receive ).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art in acting is more distinct than others because of how I carry myself as an individual , my passion to keep growing and learning about being creative I have the ability to do anything I put my mind to whether its to improvise an act, freestyle a song, walk the runway of a high fashion designer brand, I can complete any craft I put time into my drive in unmatched with how goal driven I am. I grew up very self-conscious , shy and lacking self confidence so I never imaged seeing myself acting on TV or modeling in-front of thousands of people live. My older brother got me to go to a modeling team in school which I then started to get a better passion and built my confidence up into years later walking infront of icons like Shaun Ross, Tokyo James and working on movie sets with actors Jamie Foxx, Angela Basset, and Megan Good. I am most honored and thankful for landing a featured role in Black Panther 2 : Wakanda Forever that will premiere this November 11th, raised over $300,000 on my brand online as a young content creator, my own MTV catfish episode aired on February 14th 2022 which was an amazing experience for me to be brought onto national television this helped my social media brand and I was able to bring on the girl who was cat fished by a fake version of me, I flew her out for a surprise dinner and putting a smile on her face after such a hard time made me feel so much better as a man. I was born with a speaking impediment in which limited me when I was growing up as a child. Placed in speaking classes and taking my fathers advice ” Always think before you talk son, just breathe and think your words will flow right through “. As I got older it was a challenge dealing with this I didn’t make friends, or talk to others because I was scared of my speech disorder. I faced my fear at my very 1st talent show which I gave a speech infront of hundreds of crowds and took home the crown. Since then I won’t ever be scared to speak or let my voice be heard, facing my biggest fear made me fearless of any obstacle ! In the industry I’ve learned loyalty is everything, everyone I meet or work with building a solid friendship or partnership always helped me out for the future my face is always remembered in a positive way and I’m always recalled for bigger work. Birth in Lagos, Nigeria I was granted a scholarship to school in US in 2012. Moved to NY with family until 2015 we crossed over to Maryland to begin a new journey in life. I want the world to know my story of how I came up from the bottom and worked my way to the top, nothing was given to me I worked nights for, took losses for, I didn’t win until I failed multiples and figured my way to success. I grew up with so much self doubt but maturing up I realized I was only limiting myself, the only competition along was myself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My treasured cities are Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Atlanta. Houston is most favored for its hospitality in care and food. I enjoy taking my peers who visit Houston to my favorite Nigerian restaurants. When it comes to excite meant in Texas taking my friends ATV riding or club hopping in Houston is top tier. Los Angeles city is where I first experienced the Hollywood industry life, from getting special invites to celebrity party like Chris brown birthday house party at his mansion to the BET awards I enjoy meeting and networking with other creatives, artists, models I encounter. Hiking to the Hollywood sign is a common tourist spot to do while in LA, also its bit of a workout I’ll say and the view of the whole LA is very beautiful. Miami weather is very tropical but the beaches like Lummus Park beach, pools and lit parties by shore will always keep you cool. I took my first trip to Miami my freshmen college year spring break and it became an annual vacation trip for me and my college friends now. Favorite Miami restaurants are bacon b*itch, and Amara at Paraiso. My memorable places to hang out in Atlanta are young thugs studio, Magic city, Tyler Perry studios. Working with YSL artists I am invited for events, parties and studio sessions with artist I listen to like Gunna, Lil Keed, and more.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all I owe my successful life to the woman that birth me, Olanike Tubo my mother taught me how to show love & care for one another, how to help a hand, how to treat a woman ( I always get small memories of my mother telling me that if I shared more in life God would always be there to put his blessings onto me and my life has been better ever since). My hard working father will forever be the reason my drive to chase my dream and work is so elevated ( growing up in Nigeria with my father he taught me never to be a lazy man, he worked everyday and also had multiple sources of businesses ). My family brothers & sister Bolu, Tolu, Tobi are my motivations, simply us being blood will always be my motivation to grind for us. My Bestfriend Jazlyn has been a big impact in me always believing in myself, she literally watched me and been there everyday since I met her always checking on my mental, my career she supports, anything I say I want to do she believes I can get it done ! Mrs. Carolyn my acting agent has been an amazing blessing onto my story, I met her at my very 1st acting role and she saw something in me special that my face needed to be on big screens, shortly after I signed with her I was booked for major movies, music videos and networking has been easier with her being a mentor to me.
