We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Newell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olivia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to taking a risk, I always say to bet on yourself. Some of the best outcomes have come to fruition because I was willing to take a chance on myself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Olivia Newell, UGA graduate with decades in the salon industry. Multi-generation salon owner/artist, Olivia began her career in the hair world at just 13. As well as being Summit Salon Business certified, Top 30 under 30 Entrepreneurs, she’s featured in several media/print articles. Her salons voted #1 for 15+ years. With hopes to be educating internationally by the time she’s 40, while planning to purchase another salon space to add to her brand.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Woodstock was recently voted #1 place to live in the US! Being born and raised here, I take pride in my city. I love to eat at the restaurants in downtown Woodstock, Century House is a favorite. Mad Life is an amazing venue to see cover bands and live performances, and you can never go wrong with their charcuterie board. In the summer, Lake Allatoona on the boat is the best place to beat the Georgia heat. The green space behind Reformation Brewery is great year round, and fun for all ages.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband. The most selfless man on the planet, that would give me the moon and all the stars. I would not have been able to get through a lot of the changes, (good and bad) throughout these last few years. You’re my solid, always. Thanks for always being my person, love you
