We had the good fortune of connecting with Oky & Jana Arthur and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Oky & Jana, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
In my opinion, having habits is the key to being successful in every area of life. Over time those habits become stronger, and have a deeper meaning, as we perceive them differently throughout life. The habits we have picked up over the past years are a reflection of where we are right now. We are very disciplined, with a consistent routine, which allows us to prepare each event a month in advance; therefore, stress is not invited to our party. We both have a positive attitude, not letting anything become an obstacle in our path. No matter where we are in life, there is always more to accomplish. We strive to constantly refine our skills and invest in our future. This gives us the confidence we need to increase our personal value. These values are what we use in our business everyday, striving to make wonderful memories for all. As Dale Carnegie once said, “Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. ”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
A hardship that we have dealt with and are still dealing with is brand recognition. At the start of our business it was hard to get clients, as none of them knew our company. This all began to change as we began to realize what parts of our service differs us from the crowd. At Stop The Time Photobooths, we understand the importance of communication when organizing an event. That’s why we are proud of answering emails and phone calls immediately to ensure that the organizing process is as smooth as possible. Our clients are assured of the very best service and experience. In fact, most of our clients are repeat clients who keep coming back for more! Not only this, we always stay on top of new technology, if state of the art tech comes out, we get it. Today we offer five different photo booths, ranging from a roaming photo booth, to a photo booth on wheels. We are always adding more backdrops designs to our collection, and our props are created by professionals that know the meaning of fun! We also don’t limit the amount of prints per group, as we want everyone to have photos and memories of their times together. All of these factors truly make our service unique, making sure that all of our clients have the best service possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If it were up to me, I would take whoever is visiting to Atlanta first. In Atlanta there are so many things to do, such as visit Little Five Points, or go to Ponce City Market. From time to time there are events, festivals, anything your heart can dream of. Another amazing part about Atlanta is Piedmont Park, it creates a strong juxtaposition between the fast paced city life and the gentle serene surrounding of the park. It’s honestly a beautiful sight to see. Going along with this thought, another beautiful but less known area of Georgia is Helen. It is a small town based after Germany and other European references. There you can go hiking, walk around the town, even visit a multitude of restaurants. One restaurant is Muller’s Famous Fried Cheese Cafe. Overall, Atlanta and it’s surrounding counterparts are as beautiful as ever, and all of it is even more amazing with a friend.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The book, “The One Thing” by Garry Keller, goes into depth about multitasking and it’s somewhat negative effect on a hard worker. In today’s society the myth of multitasking is jeopardizing the success of many people, as it causes for one’s self to focus on too many tasks or worries at a time. The one thing that I focused on during the planting of our business was the first event. Focusing on that, I knew if the event came out well, I would have pictures for the website, maybe a first review, and of course experience. These past years have been quite a rollercoaster, and the views I have today would have never occurred to be a thought in my mind without this book. This book however is not only what led me to success, but my loving wife and son did too. They are both my biggest supporters, not only in life goals, but the business too. My wife, the co-owner, had loved the idea of us owning a photo booth company five years ago, and she still loves and supports the idea. Family is a very big deal to me, I feel that my wife is my brightest supporter. No matter how big or how crazy the idea is, she is always by my side, and I am truly grateful for that.
