We had the good fortune of connecting with Nyra Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nyra, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I live by this quote that I heard in church one day. The pastor said “If you persevere under trial you’ll be indestructible” There will always be trials and tribulations in life but if I remain strong and never give up I will never fail.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I jumped into real estate full-time earlier this year in May after I graduated from Clark Atlanta university with my bachelors in business administration. I was blessed with an amazing opportunity to work with the Ekabo Home Team @EXP realty where I get to work with a lot of investors and just learn a lot more about the ins and outs of the real estate business. I absolutely love my team and I have an amazing mentor that is teaching me so much and it’s very exciting because I am actually working with two people that I went to high school with so the team has a great dynamic which makes working with them very comfortable and also fun. I never thought that I would find something in life careerwise that I would actually love to do until I joined this team. If somebody asked me even three years ago, what is it that I want to do for a living? I would not have been able to get them a truthful answer because I simply did not know. I will say getting my license was pretty challenging. It took a lot of dedication and consistency but I was able to pass the test and get my license all before my 21st birthday, which was a goal that I had set for myself so I was very proud for not giving up or getting discouraged even after failing the test the first time. Throughout all of this, I have learned to never give up on your dreams, and that God has a plan for me that is even bigger than what I could possibly imagine. I had to learn that in order to get the things that I want out of life and meet my goals I have to change my habits, mindset and know that consistency and patience is key. That meant spending 10+ hours a day studying at the dinning room table and making 1000+ note cards just so I can get where I’m at now. You can pray all day and ask God to bless you with these amazing dreams that you have for yourself but if you don’t put in the work, your dreams, cannot become a reality.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to show recognition to my family especially my mom for always believing in my dreams and supporting my dreams and helping me through the obstacles that I may face throughout the process of achieving my goals. I would also like to give credit to my mentor and the Ekabo Home Team. I am very blessed to be working with such amazing individuals that have similar goals and aspirations. We are always learning from each other which is awesome. Most importantly I need to give credit to God because absolutely none of this would be achievable, or even thought of without him.
