We had the good fortune of connecting with NyKeta Randall-Cloud and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NyKeta, how do you think about risk?
Taking a risk made me who I am today! Without that leap of faith I don’t know where I would be. Risky risk, I took my last $300 and started in the trunk of my car literally! I had two shelves in my car where I kept supplies and a massage table. I was just getting started so I couldn’t afford a Location or space rental. I would simply drive around Atlanta house to house doing postop care for a full year.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hi, My name is Nyketa Randall -Cloud. I’m from Miami Florida but I have been in Atlanta majority of my life. I come from a single father of 8 who did everything in his power for his children. I grew up with my grandma for my first years of my life, my girl Pearl lol. The life I live now is nothing like the life I was living three years ago. I’m not proud of who I was. From jail to prison, I have truly made a change. Pretty Essentials Body Recovery was my change. Going to prison was the last straw for me, but I truly believe god sat me down to save me. I cried many days in that cell. But that lil box gave me the concentration I needed. I have always been into the body. I use to sell shape wear and weight loss products “Divas Paradise” was actually my first business back in “2012” but I wasn’t grounded enough at the time. I had a good lil client base and everything. I actually sold exotic wear also. It’s so funny I had a good amount of dancers as clients then and some how I came back in contact with some and accumulated more but back to me. Everyday in prison I would write in my “life book” my goals and accomplishments for when I was free. I made up my own blue print in that lil cell. I created my future in that lil cell. I remember coming home from prison. I told myself okay this is it, no more doing wrong. It’s time to do right! I worked at Wawa in Fort Lauderdale Florida after my release but I didn’t last long I was so use to the fast money from the streets. Miami is my home but I always felt like God didn’t want me there so I came back to Atlanta for another try. Insomnia Cookie was the job that helped me get back on my feet but yet again I didn’t last there but this time it’s wasn’t about the money. I actually liked the job and was trying to move up in the company. Being a felon held me back from a management position I knew I was truly capable of having, I came in the door as a shift lead. So I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t get a chance. I cried so hard about this and that day I told myself I would never work for anyone again. I told myself I would follow through with my plan and let God do the rest. I told myself when I make it ima show others like me this is not the end, your background can’t stop you. We made mistakes, we have changed and we too need a chance. I told myself I would focus and stay grounded. I took my last two Insomnia Cookie checks and invested in my future. I obtain every certification I needed to be a post op specialist. While trying to build my true dream I went back to my first love hair. And I dreaded doing it everyday my heart just wasn’t there anymore and I told myself okay you got a lil money it’s go time. As I stated my birth mom has never been in my life just occasionally but when I needed her the most she was there. I can proudly say my mother NANCY SHORTY HELPED ME BECOME A BUSINESS OWNER. She bought my massage bed! I took $300 and started in the trunk of my car literally! I had two shelves in my car where I kept supplies and a massage table. I was just getting started so I couldn’t afford a Location or space rental. I would simply drive around Atlanta house to house doing postop care for a full year. As they say life has its ups and downs my car was lost. So I move my business to my living room. I truly picked a good field to come into. Surgery is the new buzz And it’s becoming very openly popular. I was working in my living room one day and I looked up and it was about 14 women in my house lol I said to myself it’s time to MoveOn. God bless me with my first location. It’s so crazy how I actually got it and I couldn’t believe I did. Not only was I able to move in the same day I was in a prime location in Atlanta. I’m so proud of the person I am today I can walk and live in peace, no more looking over my shoulders no more counting on the streets to help me survive. I have laid a solid foundation and I owe it all to god.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m really laid back, don’t go out much lol my idea of going out is dinner lol so I probably would take them a food tour around Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my father, Randy Randall. Dad I thank you for the sacrifices you had to make for me. Because of you I am strong and independent. I have had many women guide me along the way in my life because my birth mom wasn’t around. Quite a few to name but believe me they know who they are and I’m so grateful to be blessed with you all.
