We had the good fortune of connecting with Nupoor Godse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nupoor, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been drawn to art and design. As a child, I would spend hours sketching, painting, and drawing decorative letterforms in my notebook. The way that I could express myself through art made me fall in love with it. As I continued to explore my creative interests, I developed a strong passion for branding, visual design and illustration. I believe that design has the power to solve problems, communicate ideas and emotions, and inspire people. That’s what motivates me to keep going!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
From a young age, I found myself captivated by the beauty of colours, designs, and illustrations. Whether it was making posters for my school’s bulletin board or painting landscapes, design spoke to me in a language that felt both innate and exhilarating. My fascination with typography ignited my artistic soul. As soon as I learned to write the alphabet, I discovered a love for decorative letterforms, I drew each stroke of the form in my own creative way. With the motivation of my parents, during my middle school years, I took a bold step and held my first solo exhibition. The best of my artworks found a place on the walls of one of the popular art galleries in Pune, India. Renowned artists provided inspiring feedback, and my work even got significant mentions in national newspapers. This was a pivotal moment for me and enabled me to sprint towards upscaling my potential as a designer.
Soon, I earned my degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) in Applied Arts from Rachana Sansad College of Applied Art & Craft. This educational foundation served as a solid launching pad for my professional aspirations, but I knew there was still more to learn and explore. With a desire to delve deeper into the intricacies of design, communication, and human experience, I set my sights on a Master’s degree, which led me to the Graphic Design and Visual Experience program at SCAD. Here, I immersed myself in a world where design and innovation intertwined, where I honed my craft and expanded my horizons.
As a brand and visual designer preparing to step into the industry, I see myself as an empathetic, detail-oriented, and versatile creative professional. I firmly believe that good design should seamlessly blend functionality and creativity, creating a captivating experience for the audience. To achieve this, I leverage solid design principles, strategic thinking, and a dash of ingenuity to effectively communicate ideas and evoke emotions. Whether I’m crafting brand designs, conjuring up whimsical illustrations, or playing with typography, I pour my heart and soul into every pixel, striving to create an impact.
While my journey hasn’t always been easy, I’ve learned never to give up and to believe in myself even in the face of challenges. The creative path can be a winding one, fraught with self-doubt and external obstacles. But through perseverance, resilience, and a deep-rooted passion for what I do, I’ve overcome those hurdles and emerged stronger on the other side.
I’m honoured to have my work acknowledged by prestigious organizations like Type01, Design by Women, You Creative Media, Applied Arts Media, Abduzeedo, 36 Days of Type, and Women of Type. Receiving recognition and accolades from these respected institutions serves as an inspiration for me to continue pushing the boundaries in my creative endeavours.
I am filled with excitement and anticipation as I look for my next design role. I am eager to bring together everything I’ve learned, infuse my designs with all the gathered knowledge and insights gained from my experiences, and make a meaningful impact in the world of visual communication.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my loving family, friends, and super-talented professors who have been a constant source of support and inspiration throughout my design journey. My family has always been supportive of my creative journey and encouraged me to follow my dreams. My friends have been there for me through thick and thin and have always been willing to listen to my creative (or not-so-creative) ideas. My professors have taught me so much about design and helped me flourish as a designer. Big thanks to all for challenging me to be the best version of myself and never stop pushing my boundaries!
