We had the good fortune of connecting with NovaKane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NovaKane, why did you pursue a creative career?
To be completely honest, I didn’t really choose an artist career, it chose me. Since infantry, I was influenced and around music constantly. With my mom being an underground hip hop artist and my grandmother an evangelist, I often found myself in the studio or in the pews closest to the instruments.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other artists is that though I’m inspired by many different artists and music genres, I could never sound like any other. To me, making music is a sacred process, and the originality of your art is what makes it unique. I’m most excited for all the projects and increase of performances I have to come for my supporters. I’m very much so the type to work in private but when things drop, I’m sure there is something for everyone to enjoy. I got to where I am today simply by making the music that I would like to hear. I honestly didn’t realize I went through a lot of the things other people went through, and those things seemed to resonate with others but that’s a whole different conversation haha. By no means was it easy because the industry focuses on trends that come and go, but that made me want to stay true to myself and my sound even more. I want the world to know that I make music for the black sheep,because trust me in the end? You’ll always end up the goat 🐐 💪🏾

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a very scenic person and I honestly enjoy my solitude, so if you’re into that I’d suggest something like the Roswell Mill. It’s a nice nature trail and waterfall where you can just enjoy the views and reflect on how blessed you are 😌
