We had the good fortune of connecting with Noré Arnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Noré, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My name is Noré (pronounced nor-ray) Aaliyah, and I am a Bahamian Brand & Web Designer and the owner of Studio Eight Creative. I am always asked if I am a full-blown Bahamian or if I just have Bahamian roots, and the answer is YES, I am fully born Bahamian. I was born in the Bahamas to Bahamian parents and have lived in the Bahamas my entire life, and my whole family still lives there. I have been designing for about six years, and I love it. I primarily work with female entrepreneurs, and I describe my design style as feminine and bold.

I started my business back when I was in university. I was the designer for my student association, so designing was always something I loved. However, during my 2nd year at university, I wanted an extra side hustle, and somebody incredibly close to me kept egging me on to start my own business. So that’s when I began Studio Eight Creative and designed on the side part-time. Once I graduated from university in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology during the pandemic’s peak, I knew finding a job would be difficult, so I turned my part-time hustle into a full-time job.

I’ve also always been creative and wanted to enter the beauty/cosmetology industry. So with my business, I’m sort of working with a dynamic of the best of both worlds because I’m able to work with entrepreneurs in the field and still be a creative person.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a creative at heart and it brings me joy being a designer. My mission with Studio Eight Creative was to help women-led product + service-based business owners show up consistently with vibrant, strategic brand identities that prioritize their individuality and profit.

My vision is to:

• Empower women to show up boldly by creating visual identities that are unique to them
• Provide the tools for women-led businesses to show up consistently and become industry leaders and experts
• Push the boundaries of what is considered “professional” for a visual identity
• Prove that women can show up and make money without changing who they are

My passion is to really help other women show up boldly— in life and in business! My work combines eye-catching fonts and vibrant color palettes that make a statement. My main goal is that after my clients work with me, they feel like they can be successful business owners and maintain their individuality in a world full of other brands

My goal is to also always to help my clients stand out from the crowd, but still, be inviting to their customers. There’s a fine line between the bold and welcoming, and I have the creative eye to build the perfect balance.

Something I am most proud of when it comes to my brand is working with the Snob Life and EAP Heat brands. If you know of beauty brands then you know those two brands are the IT brands and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be their designer since 2021. It’s been an amazing experience and from working with the brands themselves, I’ve learned so much about myself and my abilities as a designer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my support system; this includes my significant other, mom, family, and in-laws. Also, shout out to my best friends, ATH program, and graphic squad!

They are my backbone and keep me lifted when my spirits are low, and are always there to motivate me along my journey of being an entrepreneur.
