Meet Noel Figueroa | Real estate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Noel Figueroa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noel, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Forming new habits is very challenging. Especially when I started real estate 4 years ago. I was just a young adult always playing Call of Duty and partying. One day life hit me a reality check. Little did I know that day will change my life.
Reading books and being a student has played a major role in life. Not just as person but in business. Always willing to learn, improve, and listen. Four years ago I read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. I learned a lot from that book. One lessons I learned was to always be a student. Always asking questions, seeking knowledge, and being a better version of myself. There are so many amazing books with life’s greatest secrets and ways to be successful in life. It’s like a cheat code to playing the game life. I’ve became a student and always seeking to learn through books. People have been in our shoes once’s. So why try to reinvent the wheel. I’ve always felt that if I study and surrounded myself with some of the top agents in my industry. I’ll eventually work with them someday, and also be like them. I did whatever it took to be around them and learn. I couldn’t afford a mentor or even pay for their time. So whenever they needed something I’ll do it. In return they typically take me out to lunch or appointments with them. I’ll listen in on their conversation and we will talk about business. They will give me tips on what I can do for my business. I’ve also learned how to handle certain situations beginning of my career. Just from listing to their conversation with buyers or sellers.
If you’re not willing to learn or be coachable. You aren’t going to get far in life. I’ve read so many book and most books had something in common. Almost everyone had a mentor or had got a mentor at some point in life. You have to become a sponge and be willing to learn. This habit can be applied to anything in life. Problem is most people want to do things are their own. Which isn’t bad but some do it for bragging rights, think they know it all, or think old methods don’t work. Always be seeking in life and in your industry. You will be amaze at what you find and learn.. I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Earl Nightingale.
Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh, receiveth. He that seeketh, findeth. To him that knocketh, it shall be opened.”
It’s as marvelous and as simple as that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Being in the real estate industry is very competitive. You have to be willing to learn and work everyday. The entry level is so easy but the success rate is so low. Recent report stated 60,000 real estate agent left this year in 2023. Majority agents started around the time during Covid like I did. With rates being low it was easy to find a buyer. With homes selling so fast you didn’t have to do that much work as a agent. As soon as the market corrected itself. That’s when things started to shake the industry. You had to actually work.
As a realtor our number job is to prospect daily. Showing houses, going on appointments, doing consultations etc is part of the work. But, the number one job is prospecting. Without any clients you have no business. For me I was a sponge when I started the industry. I was learning from the best. Learning how to cold call, door knock, host open house, or even be on camera. You see, most realtors don’t like to do that type of prospecting. Most want to post a few things on social media and think business is going to come to them. In reality that’s not the case. You have to always ask yourself “Why me, why do they want to work with me” . I learned two things. You have to be a great sales person and a great marketing person. You can be both or either one. I’m blessed to be good at both. Thanks to my gaming career at one point it has help me a lot with my real estate career.
At one point I was chasing clients for money. I stop and asked myself what Am I doing. I didn’t do that when I was a gamer. I was networking, building relationships, putting myself content out to the public, and supporting others. That’s when a light bulb went off one day. I learned to stop chasing the money and focus on the relationship. Once I understood that concept, it was a game changer for me. Most agent want people to buy or sell now. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. You can’t force -anyone to do anything. What you can do though is show why you are the right person to be there for them whenever it comes to real estate. Be the expert, be the resource, and most importantly be the friend.
Thanks to my background I’ve built my business via social media from referrals. From my friends from New York, followers from LinkedIn, and other realtors. I use my social media to be the resource guy. I use my people skills to build relationship with others in different industries. As well as other realtors in different states. This concept can be applied in any industry. Build the relationships, nature them, and watch your business grow. Remember relationships over transactions.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I hardly go out because I focus on work and my family mainly. When my friends come into town we typically go to the same places. We usually start our mornings at The Original Pancake House and each get the breakfast skillet. One of the best skillets I’ve ever had. Afternoon we typically go to Fort Lauderdale beach and relax. For lunch we will go to Tap42 and enjoy the appetizers. Our favorite is the calamari. Night time we will go to dinner at Tijuana Taxi. They have amazing Mexican food and drinks. At night I’ll take them down to Las Olas. Enjoy the nightlife and local restaurants/bars.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The book Rich Dad Poor Dad is the book that changed my life. How I see and view things. If you’re someone that is lost in life. I highly recommend reading that book.
