We had the good fortune of connecting with Niya Baxter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
i was A little scared! terrified actually, that i wouldn’t succeed in my own business but my mom and A lot of other people told me helped me to see i could do it . so i just jumped out there and started !

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
i got to where i am today by just showing up and being authentic self it wasn’t easy at first cause i had some doubts about myself and if i could do it or not and if i would fail or not –

i over came the challenges by hearing how other people reacted to me and my talent and not just stay in my head about how i felt about myself

– some lessons i’ve learned along the way is to believe in yourself just A lil , and you can get somewhere. and god will help you get there and everything is not always as it seems in your here

i want the world to know that my brand is A feel good brand i wanna make you feel beautiful when i do your makeup and i want you to smell good when i make my fragrances and not have you brake the bank trying to smell good and have something nice !

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
i was definitely take them to either Poor calvin’s for some good food ! rock steady for A good time and drinks and maybe A escape room, or activate games for some fun activities and if there’s a show like Circus Soleil at Atlantic Station, then I would definitely take them there

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom Karen Baxter!
