Meet Nisha Miley | Wife, Mom, & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nisha Miley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nisha, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Nashville Native. Inner City Kid through and through and absolutely proud of it. 80’s baby. I was brought up at Granny’s house around brothers and cousins. You had to be there, lol! My Grandma raised the whole ‘hood. She still is there in the same house and her love has no bounds. My parents also played a pivotal role in my upbringing. There was always family all around. Big birthdays and warm holidays. It absolutely has impacted who I am today. I am intentional about cultivating that warm space, a home, for my family & close friends.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Urban Crew Co. is my brand! I am a creative, It is therapy to create. It’s also important to me to sharpen your skills and/or to be constantly learning something new. I really love knowledge. A real nerd! I started Urban Crew Co as Miley Craft Co. and I made everything! Eventually I wanted to niche down so I chose to design, print & press tshirts & crews! Building a business takes time and consistent effort is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned. Starting and growing a business is full of challenges. Restarting and refocusing on the goal is imperative. Being open to new ideas, continuing to be inspired, knowing when to pivot are all lessons that I have learned along the way. I think it’s also important to support other brands. Show love to the CEOs that are in the building and cultivating stage.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s act like tourist Sis!! We most def headed to downtown Nashville for brunch at the Assembly Food Hall and shopping on 5th & Broadway.
Next up is the National Museum of African American Music and then day party?
okay next….NAP TIME, because we ain’t making it out tonight , otherwise!
After nap time, turn on some good music, do an outfit change and we out for the night life! Ha!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Husband, Dedrick. Shoutout to Bae! He is my person. He provides an absolute stoic anchor for my soul!
His support is top tier. His encouragement is consistent. His love for me is so loud.
