We had the good fortune of connecting with Nisa Traylise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nisa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always knew I wasn’t supposed to work for anybody. I’ve watched my dad my whole life own businesses and I’ve never seen him work for anyone but himself, so my entrepreneurial spirit definitely comes from him.

Starting That’s Tu’Cute particularly, though. I was fresh out of a marriage where I felt like I had literally lost my whole identity and I just wanted to do something that I loved. I’ve been creative my whole life and fell in love with making tutus. I had only made them for myself and a few friends. I started with just tutu sets and that was it then as I went along, I got into parties and party favors and I just keep expanding.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Custom Party Connoisseur, which is a title I gave myself because when people asked me what I did it was so hard to explain or I’d just say everything. I’m most proud of my custom party favors, they’ve become a staple to my business. I got where I am today by just sticking with it. A lot of times I wanted to quit because I know I’m great at what I do and the recognition don’t match but I also know my time is coming. It’s never been easy but it’s always worth it. I overcome challenges by always going back to the drawing board, seeing what I could do differently, what works and what doesn’t. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that comparison is the thief of joy. I don’t compare myself to anyone in this industry because a lot of people do what I do but nobody does it like me. I’ve also learned that every customer is not MY customer. I want the world to know that anything is possible. Whether it’s a vision for a party, or a business, or anything in general, it’s possible. I started with 3 colors of tutu material and a name and nothing else. I knew what I wanted and went for it and I’m on my way to being the dopest event decorator anybody has ever seen. Ase.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I just moved here almost two years ago and still don’t know a lot but we’d go to Beat The Bomb, the Trap Museum, Cake & Sip, Tutu Tufting. I’m an activity person so I like creative stuff. We’d definitely eat Slutty Vegan and Atlanta Breakfast Club anything else we’d find on TikTok

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends and family are my biggest supporters and always speak life over my business. My son Jeremiyah literally thinks I’m superwoman and takes so much interest in my business as a whole. He’s what keeps me going. My parents heavily support me, my sister & brother hires me for their god daughter’s birthday every year. My boss friends, AC includes me in every event she has, big or small. Breanna has hired me every year, multiple times a year since her daughter was 2. My SisterBae and my bro never leave me out of an event and steady speaks life over me & my business. My aunty ShaSha who never let me quit nobody how many times I tried. I just had to call a few people out by name but really all of my friends are my biggest supporters and they all deserve recognition.

My business teacher, Laura Manyweather, who taught me to just do whatever I want to do, at least try it!

And lastly, my 2 angels. Jamaul & Inky, they believed in me so much and literally thought I was the best at everything I try.
