We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Elaine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I decided to pursue a creative career because at my core, that’s the very essence of who I am- a creator. Since I was a kid, I’ve always had a really big imagination. I would dream up entire worlds in my mind and could easily live there forever. As I got older, I still kept that big imagination and actually had the resources to make them a reality. I tried the traditional route, but it never felt like I was able to truly be myself. I’m passionate, silly and playful and creative work allows me to express myself and honor my uniqueness. In my opinion, creativity makes life enjoyable and inspires us to explore the fullness of who we are.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Absolutely. I have a few different brands and would love to share a bit about them! Empress Incarnated is a safe space for women to heal from generational trauma, remove subconscious blockages, and live a life by design. We frequently host workshops, masterminds and retreats centered around the synthesis of spirituality and self mastery. Master(ing) Peace consists of my book, Master(ing) Peace: From Suffering to Surrender, the accompanying shadow work journal and an oracle deck. I’m excited to continue the expansion of this brand into clothing & additional merchandise this year! Last, but certainly not least, Remember, You’re Royalty consists of luxury custom crowns for special events. I hand make the crowns to order, and they really capture the essence of the wearer. As far as challenges that i’ve experienced, I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road. When I first started Empress Incarnated, It was entirely funded my own money from the money I made working a corporate job.. I remember having to use all of my PTO to travel for our company events and as a result missed quality time with my family. The main thing that has kept me motivated through it all was the fact that this work, this vision, is so much bigger than me. I’ve learned many lessons along the way, so much so that I decided to put them in my book. The most impactful lesson that I learned, however, can be summed up in a quote: “Life is not happening to you, life is responding to you.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question because when my best friend came to visit, I actually took her to a lot of my favorite spots. As far as restaurants, there are sooo many great places! Slutty Vegan, Ray’s, Desta and Fox Bros would definitely be on the list among many others. I’d also take her to the Aquarium, Botanical Gardens and the Braves Stadium. For fun outings, I’d show her around Edgewood and Buckhead. Of course, no trip to Atlanta is complete without a trip to the Martin Luther King National Historical Park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout would have to go to the Empress Incarnated community! Without community, we wouldn’t be what we’ve blossomed into today. In times like this, it’s more important than ever to come together and support each other from a heart centered space. Every single person that has ever attended a retreat or workshop, bought a book or journal, or participated in an online coaching program, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. It truly means the world to have such an amazing & solid support system.
