We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikole Primm and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikole, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have always had a love for all kinds of art! The fascination with color, style, and the ability to be as unique and creative as I can be is what made me get into it full time. I began painting only a year ago, just as a way of creating a relaxing therapeutic experience for myself. It soon turned into a daily hobby and passion, that I found to be my personal contribution to my selfcare routine, and I have not stopped since.

In February of this year (2022), I decided to turn my passion into a business venture; I am so happy I did. I have hosted a few paint parties, but took the summer off to figure out what my next paint event would look like. That is when Painting For Peace was born. I loved the idea of being able to give others who are looking for a break for the norm, a place they can come, meditate and create art at the same time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe that as an artist, we are all truly different and unique in our own way. For me, its the way I create, the fact that I use a lot of facial features in my work. I would consider myself an abstract artist, but I try not to box myself into one category. I am always proud of the art I create, but I am most excited about my up and coming monthly event “Painting For Peace”. Painting For Peace is near and dear to me because it is my way of helping others reach their selfcare journey, as well as creating a peaceful environment that combines meditation, sound, and art. As a single mom, I am constantly looking for ways to find some time for selfcare, and meditation has always been a challenge for me. This is how Painting For Peace was initially created. I found that meditative art was one of the most amazing ways to clear my mind and prepare for whats next. It was my way of dealing with my mental health, and also remain creative in the process.

I decided to turn my passion for art into a purposeful business this year. Was it easy? Absolutely, in the sense of getting started, however going through the process has been challenging. The challenges come when it comes to getting people to notice you, notice your work and their need for what you do. But, I have been so thankful to have such an amazing support system along the way. I also know that what I’m doing is needed.

I have learned how necessary art is to the human mind and spirit. Art is therapeutic, and so many people are suffering from mental health issues in silence. With art, you can find a peace like no other, and it has brought me so much clarity over the last year. I have had ppl who’ve attended my events in the past tell me that although they have no artistic skills, they felt so good in the process of creating, and actually loved their art work they created.

I would like for everyone to know The Art Of Fluidity is more than just another art business trying to make money. TAOF is a spiritual and peaceful experience, whether you’re purchasing or commissioning art, or attending a Painting For Peace or another of our Paint Events, you will always feel rejuvenated and at peace.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a special shoutout to Your CBD Haven in Roswell, because during the start of my business, they were kind enough to allow me to use their space for free, as well as helping me get the word out. The owner (Pamela Katz) was an amazing hostess! She supplied all the food, wine, space, and the music. I am forever thankful for this woman.

The 2 people I have to give a huge shoutout to, are my mom and my daughter. They have truly been my biggest fans, and both of them have encouraged me to keep pushing. My mom is also an artist, she creates custom jewelry pieces, which I proudly wear daily. And my (7 year old) daughter Journey, has shown an true interest in art as well, she says it feels good when she is painting; she actually tells everyone that this is ‘our’ business lol. I have had a lot of outside support as well, from family and friends.
