Meet Nikida Bryant | BSN, RN

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikida Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikida, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Alot of thought went into starting my own business. The main thought was, of course, were my children. Generational wealth and health are very important. I want them to see that you can create both of those things without jeopardizing who you are as a person. Another thought that lead me toward entrepreneurship is the fact that I am a nurse by career but I am also an individual. I was beginning to feel like nursing did not allow both to exist in the same space. As an individual I like things like tattoos, piercings, colorful hair, etc. Nursing has a set standard for what they expect nurses to look like. I personally believe you can do both which is what lead me to start my own business in which I make the rules.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have been a registered nurse for 10 years. In those years I have gained experience in numerous areas of nursing. I created Free Flow Hydration and Wellness after falling sick with Covid and having to receive IV fluids in the emergency room. I had been giving people IV fluids for all these years but never felt the difference personally. I have also noticed people are beginning to put their health and wellness first and I would like to assist along this wellness journey which is why Free Flow specializes in IV hydration and vitamin injections. Free Flow Hydration and Wellness is different because I have personally experienced the benefits of the products and services I offer. Also the fact that I am a healthcare professional first then a business owner so my focus is on maintaining wellness by providing quality care over making a dollar. The fact that I stuck with my vision makes me the most proud. I attended courses and network constantly with some already established nurse entrepreneurs which has been of great value in getting me where I am in my business. My biggest challenge in opening Free Flow was when I would start to feel overwhelmed because I did not know the next step to take, it made me want to quit. I took a 3 month break in which I didnt think about opening my business in order to reset. This break also helped me to hone in on my vision. Marketing is helpful in getting my business out to my community but marketing is also the hardest part for me because I dont enjoy being the center of attention and putting myself out there. am actively working on becoming better at marketing as it can make or break a business. I am in the beginning stages of being an entrepreneur but I am extremely excited for what the future holds. My brand wants to encourage people to not let the everyday hustle and bustle of life stop your flow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
