We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikia Kenneybrew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a child growing up I’ve always been heavy in size, and as I got older I continued to see the lack of fashionable clothing for plus sized women, I knew my business was needed to solve a problem and provide what we were missing, fashion!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a dental lab technician, yes I make dentures, lol! I’ve been doing that for about 8 and a half years, I help people and solve problems all day, I took what I learned in my profession and applied it to my business, the road wasn’t easy I’m still learning. I’ve learned to keep learning, you can never know to much! My brand is me! Plus size women around the world had a problem with not being able to find something fashionable to wear, I solved a problem not only for me but for us as plus size women!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re Definitely going to eat, one of my favorites is BQE in Atlanta, definitely shoot the hooch, and take a trip to New Orleans for some fun and willies Chicken, lol!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God, couldn’t do anything with our him! My mother who has molded me into the woman I am today, anything I do I do with her in mind! I love you Mama! My kids, consistent daily motivation, I cannot and will not let them down, ever!
