We had the good fortune of connecting with Nijia Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nijia, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
As it comes to my lash business, Conceited Me & Co. By Nijia Lashae LLC, or in any business, mental health is first, always. If my mental state is not together, how can I fully prosper my business? After being officially in business for over a year, I really had to monitor my mental health and that is with the strength of God. With God on my side, I can conquer anything. People often look over mental health and think it is something not to be talked about. Once you bottle up anything inside, it can explode. It is very important to open up, even if it is to a therapist, your mind, your heart, must be open.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hi! Let me give you a little insight about me. My name is Nijia, as you know by now. I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but raised in Ellenwood, Georgia. I first discovered Conceited Me & Co. By Nijia Lashae LLC back in January of 2018. I did not immediately start out by doing lash extensions. I started out trying to sell clothing for women, then it was strip lashes, then it was hair extension, then after that, that is when I discovered my passion for applying lash extensions on natural lashes. For a year, I did not touch actual natural hair follicles of the human eye. I focused on building the skill first on a mannequin/false lash strip. I started out learning on YouTube. I did not become certified for lash extensions until September 12, 2020. The first certification I received was strictly on applying Classic lashes. Learning how to apply Classic lashes is the foundation of lashing. A month later, I received certification for volume extensions. I took my Classic course with Immaculate Minks (Antonia White) Atlanta, Georgia and my volume course with Murda Minks (Jessica Lindley) Atlanta, Georgia. With consistency, patience, confidence, and faith in God, here I am two years later in the lash game with over 100 clients and I’ve taught 5 aspiring lash artists already and many more to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well my best friends are familiar with the city so I would definitely take them to Atlanata breakfast club. Have to try their Peach Cobbler French toast! And a fun place I would take them would either be Andretti (go karting is my go to!) or top golf.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would first love to shoutout and thank my mother Natasha Moore, my mother, who is no longer here with me today, but molded me into the young women I am today. My mother struggled with her mental health issues, but she always made sure all four of her children were successful at whatever we are or were doing. She gave us the life tools we needed.
