We had the good fortune of connecting with Nigeria Hills and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nigeria, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent that has had an impact on my son is showing up, being present. I remember growing up and having events in elementary school like the book fair or lunches and giving my mom the invitation to come but she couldn’t due to her having to work. It made me upset because who doesn’t want their parent there but I understood the importance of her having to work so she could provide for me and my siblings. Fast forward to now, every opportunity where parents can participate. I make sure I’m there for my son because it makes a difference.

What should our readers know about your business?
Oh So Pretty Kreations LLC was created simply because I wanted to save money when it came to my son’s birthday parties or events. My very first event was my own birthday; I designed all the graphics, my mom cut everything out and we assembled them. I was so nervous but only two can happen: people will see what I can do and become potential clients or they won’t. The hardest factor in having a business, in my opinion, is marketing; consistently producing content and keeping your brand relevant.
I’ve been able to overcome challenges I’ve encountered with my business by staying grounded. It’s easy to get discouraged when there are other around offering similar services and people are responding them more but at the end of the day I only need to worry about me and getting better with my craft and everything else will work itself out.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The brunch restaurants in downtown Savannah are definitely a vibe. Honestly a lot of the restaurants are great; you can literally have a whole day downtown. The Grove has a great brunch menu, My favorite restaurant for dinner is Vic’s. The ambiance is superb. There are some nice clubs to go to or if want a relaxed evening there are several movie theaters to go to as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would to shoutout my my mom; she’s literally the backbone of my business. My mom has a vital role in business she is just as hands on as I am. She helps me stay organized and on top of my orders. My family and friends secondly; they have supported my idea since the very beginning in 2021. From small items such as cups to large orders for birthday parties, they show up and show out. Lastly, a very special shout out to my kiddo Jah’Kir (Kash). He’s what keeps me going, to create custom items with love and positive energy.
