We had the good fortune of connecting with Nieca Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nieca, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I turned my passion into a business. I had always created over the top events, dinner parties and birthday parties for my kids and friends. Everyone would tell me I should do it full time, but I thought it’s just a hobby. In 2015 while pregnant with my 3rd child I was put on bedrest at 5 months. The job I worked for never checked on me and I realized I was just another number in the company and I decided to step out on faith, I quit my corporate America job and created Always Over The Top Events. It has been 5 years since starting and I have NEVER regretted the decision I made.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always said that God created me to be 3 things in this life, a great wife, an amazing mother and a fabulous event designer! I am living my best life. This journey has only been easy because I have an amazing support system and when you love what you do truly its not work. I have worked with clients from all walks of life even famous and well known. I take pride in treating each and every person as the celebrity they are, we are all human and deserve to be celebrated, so I love being able to create a beautiful space for my clients and having the opportunity to be apart of their special day. My motto is Walk in Integrity, Work in Excellence.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So my perfect day in the A would be. I would start my day at Suger Hill diner to get the BEST French toast EVER! then to walk off the my amazing breakfast I would get some retail therapy in and go shopping out at North Georgia Premium Outlet in Dawsonville. Then I would take it to the city and get pampered at Tu La 2 Nail Salon and then have lunch at Krog Street Market and rent a bike and ride down the beltline where there are so many great shops and restaurants to check out. For dinner I would have to go to Ray’s Southern Foods down in Jonesboro, trust me it’s worth the drive. I would have to hit the nightlife scene and go to one of my favorites the Blue Lagoon Bar & Bistro off Cheshire Bridge rd for the best Caribbean cuisine and live music. After all that I’m sleeping in the next day😂.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give God all the glory first, he has instilled the creative gifts in me. Then I have to say thank you to my King and biggest supporter, my husband. When I decided to quit my corporate job, he said “Baby I believe in you, and I got your back” true to his word he is there helping me with every event. My littles (my babies) who motivate me to be greater each and every day. I have to thank my amazing loyal clients who bring me repeat business and great referrals. My true family and friends who genuinely want me to be successful.
