We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Ross and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I define risk-taking as understanding the reward versus concentrating on the obstacles. When people say stop and smell the roses, I think of risk-taking. We all know roses are beautiful, but holding them with their sharp thrones is a risk. However, we know there is no other scent like a rose, so we go for it. In fact, it is one of the most adored flowers by people to this day. There will always be obstacles in life, but if the reward satisfies you, go for it! Most people encourage others to be traditional and avoid risk. But what would the world look like without risk? Risk is what shapes tomorrow. Risk is what created this universe and us as a human species. I think it’s crazy not to take a chance to create (risk=create) something from within yourself. That’s the true beauty of living.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve played with both my left and right brain when it comes to occupations. It took COVID to set me free. I learned that you never know when your safety net will fail you, and having something within yourself that you can depend on is critical to survival. Because of my understanding of this, I highly recommend trade school to young adults. When individuals can survive and thrive from their skills and abilities, life can be what you make it. After Covid, I decided Corporate America was no longer for me, and I entered the world of beauty and wellness. I currently operate a spa in the city of Stone Mountain, GA. I love it because my spa serves members with all kinds of concerns, and we assist them with feelings of joy and excitement. It’s an entire vibe in my treatment room, and I think the community can benefit from our detoxing services, our fatty tissue elimination, our plant-based cooking events, and so forth. Here, at Oshun HOB we are all family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I like to please many people at one time, so the first place we are going to is the Battery. Here we can see all kinds of people and all kinds of entertainment. Then we can skip over to Atlantic Station for some shopping and visit some local tourist attractions. Next, we will catch one of Georgia’s beautiful hiking trails the following day, probably cook outdoors to enjoy the ambiance. Finally, before leaving, we will visit some live jazz music and enjoy some wine watching the downtown skyline. In my opinion, the most fulfilling people are people who can do a little, but it feels like a lot because the attention to detail was so precise.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
