We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole R. Goode, M.A., ABS (PsyD Candidate) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole R., what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I established my business in order to offer comprehensive mental health and wellness services that integrate psychology, sociology, sexology, and erotology. I saw a tremendous gap in caring for the specific needs of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. My approach emphasizes a holistic and culturally relevant framework, incorporating both psychological and sociological perspectives. This includes an understanding of cultural contexts and societal structures that impact individual and collective well-being. My services are multicultural, decolonized, and rooted in traditional healing modalities.

In addition to my consulting firm, I founded Psyche, Sex, & Society magazine, aiming to edify artistry, education, and sexuality in erotic expression and consciousness. This publication underscores my dedication to fostering open discussions on human sexuality and relationships.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I offer a unique blend of services that integrate psychology, sociology, sexology, and erotology. My approach is culturally relevant, incorporating traditional healing modalities to address the diverse needs of my clients.

One of my recent standout initiatives is the publication of Psyche, Sex, & Society magazine.

The journey to establish and grow my consulting firm has been both challenging and rewarding. Integrating multiple disciplines into a cohesive service offering required extensive research, continuous learning, and adaptability. Overcoming these challenges involved a commitment to education, cultural competence, and a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of various aspects of health and wellness.

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned the importance of pivoting and expanding. These lessons have been instrumental in shaping the services I provide and the impact I aim to achieve.

I am committed to promoting holistic well-being through culturally informed and interdisciplinary methods. My dedication to integrating traditional healing practices with contemporary knowledge makes my approach and services in the field of health and wellness uniquely distinct, exceptionally inclusive, and culturally centered on my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I value my privacy, so I won’t be sharing a detailed itinerary. Additionally, I embrace adventure and enjoy spontaneity, even within a plan. What I can say is this: Curating a week-long visit in Atlanta that includes Latin dancing, Kizomba, live jazz, artwork, bookstores, cafes, fine dining, and eclectic events guarantees a dynamic and enriching experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout my professional journey, I have been fortunate to receive guidance and support from various individuals and organizations. The insights and experiences shared by fellow professionals and mentors have profoundly influenced my work.
