We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
You know you should keep going if you are not satisfied with where you are today. Place as much energy and dedication towards achieving the goal as you do thinking about it. You owe it to yourself to at least try to keep going in pursuit of your goals and happiness. No matter how many obstacles come your way do not let it deter you from the ultimate journey towards success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mediocre to Masterful is a podcast and resource for black women to learn how to operate in their power. There is also emphasis on how to start, tackle and achieve your goals. Topics include entrepreneurship, finance, and wellness. This platform has been a labor of love. It definitely is not easy juggling work and life outside of work. Some of the ways I have been able to balance it all, including challenges is to create time blocks for what I enjoy. I do not want to get burnout and ruin the joy I have for the business. To prevent that, I make sure I block out time for work, life, and business in way that is practical and simple. I encourage everyone to make time for things that are important for them, whether they have a multiple businesses or work a 9-5. Tips like this is what I share with my audience just so they can eliminate mediocrity and tap into their true potential. With each episode listeners are gaining insight to empower themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite go-to spots is Ponce City Market. It truly is a melting pot of good people and food. The atmosphere is always high-energy, but also relaxed at the same time. With the beltline right in the backyard it makes for the perfect hangout spot. Another fav is Negril Village. If you are in the need for Caribbean vibes and eats this is the best place in town. Genuine island dishes, festive music, and the liveliness of the restaurant has me coming back each time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thanks to the Mediocre to Masterful community for your support and believing in yourself. Also shout-out to all my family and friends who have always been in support as well as the speakers for sharing their story with me.
