We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Freeman-Kirkland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Working in the business arena, I have found that people relate and associate with you when you are authentic and prove to be knowledable in your area of expertise. I learned very early not to feed in to the “persona” of looking successful, but determined my own measure of success and live by that. The success of my brand, which is a continued journey, has been word of mouth by clients that have worked with me and shared their experience with family, friends, business partners, etc. I love a referral because it speaks to ” a great work” that I continue to strive to provide.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love what I get to do each day, and that primarily is to assist businesses in operating their business efficiently, understanding their financial performance, stragtegic planning to grow business and see bankable profits. I have operated a CPA practice for over 25 years called By The Numberz CPA, and am now venturing into financial coaching venture called The Profit-ista, to assist clients even further with more indepth one on one asistance. Over the years I have experienced clients that need that extra help and I am here for it. It has not been an easy journey, as with most business owners we still have to deal with life and the changes that come with it, while focusing on growing businesses and following our dreams. As changes occurred in my life from birth children, marriages, failed marriages, job changes, two years of COVID, illness and maintaining health and wellness, I’ve had to gurd myself to continue to trust in my abililies, think creatively and start over more than once from rock bottom. We often feel like life sucks as we go through these changes, but once we are on the other side we can truly see the purpose, for that time. The goal is to continue to learn, grow and be truthful to ourselves . My brand is me, you get the authentic version of Nicole, and I work over and above to make each client feel like my only client. I provide a no judgement, stress relieving zone for clients to face their personal and business financial situations head on and truly stand by the creed ” your sucess is my success”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have my best friend stay at my airbnb called The Gillyard located in Fairburn GA (shameless plug) then I would plan a spa day at “The Woodhouse Spa” in Dunwoody, GA for massages, body wraps, facials and mani-pedis. We would have lunch during the week at a few places: Papaduexs, Slutty Vegan, The orignal Milk and Honey (College Park), the Breakfast Boys (College Park), Kikus for sushi, to name a few. I am a home body, so a movie day with snacks and blankets would be on the list, and maybe catch a few good movies at Studio Movie Grill, in Marietta GA

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a book that I read years ago that changed my view and focus on operating my business, it’s called the “Secrets of Six Figure Women” by Barbara Stanny
