We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Foley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Honestly, diving into risks is a huge part of why I’m even in business. Every big move, from launching my own brand to choosing the kind of clients I work with, has been about stepping out of the comfort zone and into the ‘what if.’ It’s the ‘what if’ that fuels innovation and pushes boundaries.

Taking risks has allowed me to discover opportunities I’d never have encountered playing it safe. It’s not just about being daring, it’s about being intentional with the choices I make. That’s the thrill of entrepreneurship, right? Each risk is a question: ‘What’s the best that could happen?’ And more often than not, the best is something pretty amazing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s all about bringing that timeless vibe into the mix, drawing inspiration from the classics yet always with a twist. I’ve never been one to just ride the wave of trends. Instead, I dig creating designs that resonate on a more personal level with my clients, blending in elements that might not always be seen as ‘conventional’ or ‘expected.’ It’s about making the ordinary extraordinary and pushing the boundaries of what’s typically accepted in professional design.

This approach—taking the basics and elevating them with unique, personal touches—has really defined my path. It hasn’t always been easy, especially when you’re challenging norms, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. The challenges? Oh, there were plenty. From convincing clients to take a leap of faith with unconventional designs to ensuring I stay true to my aesthetic while meeting their needs—it’s a delicate balance. But the key lesson? Stay true to your art. Authenticity speaks volumes and it resonates deeply with people.

What I’m most proud of, and what I want the world to know, is that my brand stands for creativity that knows no bounds. I want my clients to stand out, to own their space, and to feel that their brand’s visuals truly represent who they are. It’s about being boldly, unapologetically themselves. That’s the heart of my work and every project is a new adventure, a new story to tell.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Alright, if my best friend were in town, we’d have a blast exploring some of my favorite spots—starting with a bang at Joey D’s for a steak dinner on a freelancer’s dime. Next up, we’d hit The Varsity for some classic Atlanta eats—don’t skip the FO, it’s a must!

For a bit of an adventure, we’d head over to Wild Animal Safari. We’re taking my beater car, so we can get up close with the animals! If we’re feeling social, an evening playing pool at The Dunwoody Tavern is on the cards, perfect for some laid-back vibes and top-notch people watching.

Music’s a big deal for me, so catching a live show at the Tabernacle, Vinyl, or Masquerade is a must. For THE best BBQ,, we’d dive into BBQ, it’s Community Q—the mac n’ cheese there? Divine. Then, a quick day trip for tubing in Helen, pulling pranks with rubber snakes—I know just the spot for the best views.

And of course, no visit would be complete without chilling at a bonfire with friends, just soaking up the good vibes. That’s my kind of week—full of good food, great adventures, and the best company.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve got to give a massive shoutout to my husband. He’s been the MVP of my support squad from day one. Whether it’s late-night brainstorming sessions, his uncanny ability to help me draw boundaries when I’m stretching myself too thin, or even just making sure I’ve got the tools I need to succeed—he’s there, cheering me on every step of the way.

It’s his encouragement that really lights the fire under me when things get tough. He believes in me unconditionally, and that kind of support is priceless. He’s not just behind the scenes; he’s right there in the trenches with me. So, for every bit of success I’ve had, he deserves a huge chunk of the credit. He’s my unsung hero, and I’m incredibly lucky to have him by my side.
