We had the good fortune of connecting with Nico Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nico, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As I’ve started to take my career more seriously I’ve definitely started to look at risk management differently. A bad use of a good opportunity hurts your brand more than ignoring the opportunity altogether. Realizing that has been a game changer. Preparation plays such a large part in everything I do now.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The biggest difference I see in what I’m doing is the approach. I’m not chasing popularity or dealing in a realm driven by clout. I don’t care for being popular, I care for being real. It’s not the most glamorous stories in these songs but they’re ones that someone somewhere is gonna relate to on a deep level. The stories that need to be told. That approach has allowed me to develop a devout and genuinely invested fanbase..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt or hesitation, my manager, my friend, my right hand: Founder of Tru2You Joe Gray. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do, at the level in which I do it, without him.
