We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My goal through the Black Is Beautiful series is to inspire and encourage my community. To show black people loving themselves and living comfortably.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy 7 years ago which made working difficult. My wife gifted me my first iPad. Encouraged by artist Jean Michel Basquiat, Kerry James Marshall, Jacob Lawrence and more. They showed me that art gives the ability of expression on topics that are rarely talked about. My black is beautiful collection shows that black is inspiring, black is encouraging, and that black is love. Encouraging people of my community and others to love yourself despite obstacles faced.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout-out to my wife Tiffany who encouraged me to follow my dreams and gifted me my first iPad.
