We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Grimes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicholas, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’m not sure I’d call it a business—I just love riding bikes. My journey began last year when I started riding with my dad, who was recovering from a major surgery and a broken leg. It’s a miracle he still has his leg and can bike, so it became a way for us to connect. After a few months, I really got into cycling and combined it with my passion for video creation. When I realized I could also make money doing what I love, I was all in!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a big believer in following your passion, and for me, that’s both art and cycling. I think art brings people together, and I’ve seen firsthand how cycling creates a strong, happy community that shares that passion. Through my videos, I get to combine these loves, sharing stories and creating something that connects with others in a meaningful way. It’s about more than just the ride—it’s about the joy and connection that comes from doing what you love.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, I’d set them up with a bike, and we’d start at Fourth Ward Skatepark. It’s a perfect spot to launch any adventure. From there, we’d ride to Piedmont Park, where I’d share some cool facts and show them my favorite spots. Next, we’d bike to the Fox Theatre, marvel at its architecture, and I’d spill all the history I know. Then, we’d hit up The Varsity for some classic Atlanta eats—two fries, two hots, and a cheeseburger!
Afterward, we’d cruise down Peachtree Street, taking in the sights all the way to Woodruff Park and Centennial Park. We’d check out the water fountains, the Aquarium, and the World of Coke. After a spin through Edgewood to see Dr. King’s childhood home, we’d wrap up by heading to Little Five Points for some comedy and drinks at The Laughing Skull.
