We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process for starting a business was that the only way to truly educate and provide opportunity is to create my own business and platform that would not only allow me to educate, but to allow us to then provide opportunity. The more we educate each other and become of resource to one another the further we can soar.

What should our readers know about your business?
As an entreperneur first and foremost I have a strong team of strategic partners, which allows us to be able to bring any business idea or thought to life. We have created many different efficient businesses in all fields of ownership to include real estate (Friends Investment Group), sports management, cannabis, retail, and restaurants.

What sets us apart is that we are able to identify opportunities, lean on each other for support resources and additional needs to push fwd with ideas. The process of a thought, to planning it out bringing it to life and executing. What also sets us apart is our ability to educate others, educate them on different processes of real estate, starting a business, or consulting for other business like needs.

Threw out my journey I have made a ton of mistakes leading to many setbacks but the persistence of never giving up and taking accountability with mistakes has allowed me to stay grounded and pivot out of bad mistakes also preventing me from making the same mistake twice.

I am most proud of the opportunities we have been able to create not only from a creating job standpoint but more importantly educating other individuals on steps necsarry to create an efficient business.

Its been a long journey getting to where I am. I was fortunate enough to represent professional athletes for the past 7 year. Being in that position I got the opportunity to create many of amazing relationships across the world. Witness some of the largest and best sporting events over the past decade with the top talent in the world. This exposure has also connected me to many entertainers, musicians, and public figures. Cultivating those relationships and turning them over to business partners and true forever friendships. While representing athletes you get a better understanding of the statistics stating 72% of professional athletes go broke after playing. To create more value for athletes I wanted to provide business development on athletes behalf in order to create residual income opportunities for them but also educate them on how to be more financial literate. Positioning them for equity positions within business and leveraging their likeness and platform.

Its been extremely difficult. Its tough gaining trust from athletes swell as there parents, especially when they see that your not that far off in age. Not to mention the process of gaining relationships for the better of your client from some of the top brands in the world. Gaining trust within negotiation. Or just the daily mental battles knowing your prepared but still questioning if your doing the right things. Staying consistent, committed, accountable. I got through these moments by continue to stay faithful to my purpose. To continue to put in the work daily even when I didn’t feel like it, understanding the where the sacrifice would get me in the long run. When you put the work in and carry your faith the man above will bless you in positions that other people see as luck lol. But its his reward to you for the sacrifices and doing what it takes to be great.

Ive learned many lessons but here’s a few ill share with you. Always be prepared, when one of my team members say “wish me luck” I tell them “luck is for the unprepared”. Preparation is key! no matter what your field is give it proper preparation and allow the work you’ve put in attract the right energy back your way. keep working.

I want the world to know that all things are possibly just continue to grow develop and don’t hold yourself back. I want the world to know that our brand Friends Investment Group is not only centered around real estate but educating others on the business of real estate and understanding the wealth gap in home ownership in America. From proper investing, to understand deals, deal flow, fix&flip process, renovations, and other real estate alike fields. We currently have a $850,000 home under renovation in the Buckhead Atlanta area that we can’t wait to share with you guys very soon! Let our story inspire the next young kid out out of any inner city in America that you can one day own the block.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If Im in the A and one of the homies is visiting we for sure going to canvas some neighborhoods for some property lol. Seriously, you gotta ride past real estate on your way to the mall anyway. With the itinerary we would do an early so we can hit the gym, health is wealth we’re sure to get a workout in. Afterwards we would hit brunch/lunch at “old lady gang” or “Roc South” and catch up. Furthermore we would either go check out some shopping in Lenox or go handle some work. The night would consistent of a nightclub or lounge vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For my story I would have to credit my entire support system. It starts with my mom, she’s my backbone. She keeps me grounded, focused, never putting limitations on how far I’ve dreamed I can go even if she couldn’t imagine what I was envisioning. My children for giving me the drive I needed to understand my purpose is bigger than just me. My grandparents for their hardworking mentality. My brothers, close friends, and even distant relationships that continue to give me inspiration from how hard they may be working or just acknowledging that they notice I’m working hard. Those words of affirmation goes along way. Its like when drake said “certain people need to tell me they’re proud of me, that mean a lot to me”.
