We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Buamah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea to create my tv show actually came from comedian Karlous Miller. During an interview with the comedian last year he suggested we create a 5-minute movie together. My mom and I thought, why make a 5-minute movie when we can create a 22-minute pilot. We went home and started writing down our ideas. That’s how Nick’s House tv show was born.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a bestselling author. I published and cataloged my first book into the Library of Congress at age 7. Since then I’ve published a total of 3 books and have now turned my love of writing books into writing film scripts. I just recently filmed the pilot to my new tv show called, Nick’s House where I hold titles as the co-creator, writer, producer, executive producer and the star of the show. I’m very excited about this accomplishment because I’m only 11 years old and I’m showing other kid’s my age that that anything is possible and don’t limit yourself because of your age.

The idea to create a tv show came to me when I was interviewed by Karlous Miller, 1/3 of the 85 South Show. During our interview he suggested we film a 5 minute movie with each other. My mom and I thought, why create a 5 minute movie when we can create a 22 minute pilot. And that’s exactly what we did. I financed it myself because I wanted to have full creative control over the project and plus I wanted to show everyone that I could do it at my age. You have to invest in your own dreams before anyone else will.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Now that the city is fully open I would have to start by taking him to one of my favorite restaurants, Ruth Chris Steak House. Of course I would suggest he try the surf and turf. From there I would probably take him to Andretti’s to go go-carting. You can’t visit Atlanta and not go to a Hawks game to watch Trae Young and John Collins hold it down. We would probably then visit the World of Coca Cola and the Atlanta Aquarium.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a special shoutout to my parents for always encouraging me to dream big.
