We had the good fortune of connecting with Nia Aaliyah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nia, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?

The most important lesson modeling has taught me is , don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and promote yourself . You have to go hard for you .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started modeling when I was 10 years old but never took it very seriously until recently . Social media has made branding myself a little easier but the biggest challenge I faces was pushing myself and believing that I can do it on my own . I still have moments where I second guess myself when bookings are slow but then I just try to find new ways to promote myself .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friends and I love to eat and find new fun things to do in NYC . We would find new places in Brooklyn or the city to eat , museums , site seeing . We also love to party . We are never really going to one set place , it’s always a new place we found on social media . We also love traveling out the country .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout my son Amari out . I push myself because of him
