We had the good fortune of connecting with Nenjah Nycist and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nenjah, is there something you believe many others might not?
“Save your money!” As I become the biggest millionaire creative I can be, I learned to study other millionaires. People, especially parents, tell you to save your money all the time when we really should be investing it. Whether it be educating ourselves or financial vehicles – letting your money stay in one place doesn’t allow you to get more money. I’m about putting in work and my money has to do the same thing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that sets me apart from others is that it’s ME. I work hard and stay consistent and do Nenjah things everyday. I’m most proud that I built my studio and my career from the ground up. Many people you work with may or may not stay with you during the entire journey but success is only determined by how much you kept at what your heart loves to do. For me, that was making music and writing lyrics. Staying with my passion has led me to release a comic book (something I’ve always wanted to do); I’ve had posters and billboards in the greatest city on earth (NYC!); I’ve featured with artists I grew up listening to; and learned how to create music for myself. Learning how to create by myself and for myself eventually led to opportunities to compose for groundbreaking anime’s on Warner Bros, networks and so much more. I can now help other people bring their creative passions to life!

The lessons I learned along the way tested my resilience and determination. Who are you when people that are close talk negatively behind your back? Who are you when collaborators turn into competition? Who are you when there isn’t money to fund your ideas? Will you quit and make excuses or will you find a way? My story is about ALWAYS finding a way. That is the Nenjah way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to take them up to this dope Vietnamese restaurant called Nha Minh. Then later hit Nostrand for doubles. Downtown BK is always a vibe and Prospect Park is dope to bike around. I’m all over the city and no where at the same time because I’m a Nenjah. Honestly, I’d just tell them to go wherever they’d like but me, i’ll be in the studio, vibin out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shout out to the Nenjah Army, my wife, my family, my pops, rest easy to my moms, CutBeetlez, all the people that told me I couldn’t/wouldn’t do it. The universe and ME for real for real.
